After the overwhelming success of the Rally Due Valli, the Trofeo Lancia is back in action from July 4th to 6th for one of the season’s most iconic races: the Rally Roma Capitale, which counts towards both the FIA European Rally Championship (ERC) and SPARCO Italian Absolute Rally Championship (CIAR). Set against the majestic backdrop of the Colosseum, the Lazio landscapes, and the central hub in Fiuggi, the event in Rome will serve as the third round of Lancia’s single-brand cup and will feature the Ypsilon Rally4 HF tackling a stunning and technical course spanning over 207 timed kilometers across 13 special stages. 103 crews are set to compete, including a formidable lineup of 18 crews participating in the Trofeo Lancia—nearly 20% of the total field. Twelve Under-35 drivers are set to battle it out for a spot in the official Lancia team in the 2026 European Rally Championship (ERC), led by Director Eugenio Franzetti.

The rally in the Italian capital arrives at a pivotal moment in the season and carries added significance: Day 1 and Day 2 will count towards Race 3 of the Trofeo Lancia, while Day 3’s results will count as Race 4. A race within a race, where every mistake holds extra significance for all the trofeisti, adding even more spice to a competition that promises to be heated. Gianandrea Pisani, topping both the overall standings and the Master category, will have to defend his slim 8.5-second lead over Davide Pesavento, winner of the Due Valli and current leader of the Junior category and Two-Wheel Drive Italian Championship. Striving to turn the Pisani-Pesavento duel into a three-way contest is Giorgio Cogni, last year’s winner of the European Rally4 category at the Rally Roma Capitale. The same goes for the young Junior drivers like Gabriel di Pietro, who is aiming to bounce back after misfortune at the Rally Due Valli, and Nicolò Ardizzone, who, after having savoring the sweet taste of champagne on the podium in Verona, is eager to take another step forward. The Junior category will once again feature Asia Vidori at the starting line, adding a welcome female presence to the entire Trofeo Lancia family.

However, these leaders in the Master category will have to contend with the outsiders Michael Lengauer and Andrea Mazzocchi, who just missed the podium in the last round, as well as newcomer Adam Sroka and the speedy Federico Francia, Edoardo De Antoni, and Emanuele Rosso, who are all aiming for a surprise victory. In the Expert category, following two victories in as many rounds, Denis Vigliaturo holds a 19.5-point lead over Emanuele Fiore, with Dariusz Polonski—an experienced European competitor—right on their heels. Additionally, don’t count out Pierluigi Marino, who is growing more comfortable behind the wheel of the Ypsilon Rally4 HF, much like Giuseppe Piumatti and Mauro Porzia.

With over 90 models sold in just a few months, the Ypsilon Rally4 HF has already proven to be the breakout star of the season—the perfect blend of power, balance, and reliability that has won over teams, drivers, and tuners across Europe. Thanks to inclusive regulations and a young, international lineup of drivers, the Trofeo Lancia continues to establish itself as a proving ground for emerging talents aiming to make their mark in one of motorsport’s most technical disciplines, while also offering expert drivers a chance to push their performance to the limit in pursuit of a Rally4 championship victory. Equipped with a 212-hp 1.2 Turbo engine, a SADEV 5-speed gearbox, and adjustable Ohlins shock absorbers, the punchy vehicle sets itself apart time after time thanks to its impeccable dynamic behavior, responsiveness in changing directions, and stability at high speeds

To make the weekend in Rome even more special, the Lancia Corse HF Village will be set up in the heart of Fiuggi, offering the public an immersive experience in the world of the Turin-based brand. In addition to test drives of the new Ypsilon—both in hybrid and full-electric versions—it will be possible to admire the new 280-hp Ypsilon HF, the fully electric road version that accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds and delivers superior agility thanks to its limited-slip differential. This version starred last week alongside the Ypsilon HF Line in a high-octane session of tests for the international press on the Balocco circuit. Furthermore, the Lancia Corse HF Village will showcase two true legends of world rally racing: the Delta Integrale and the 037. Additionally, visitors will be able to enjoy meet-and-greets with drivers, interactive activities, and special moments designed for fans and families. All of the most exciting moments from the Trofeo Lancia at the Rally Roma Capitale will be shared live on the official Lancia Corse HF Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok pages.

In summary, the Rally Roma Capitale promises to be one of the season’s key events—a race blending adrenaline, passion, and vision, with Lancia once again standing out as the undisputed star of the present and future of motorsport. After Rome, the Trofeo will take a summer break before resuming with the Rally del Lazio (September 13-14) and concluding with the grand finale at the Rallye Sanremo (October 17-18).
