1. INTRODUCTION
Lancia unveiled to the international media, at the Stellantis Motorsport headquarters in Satory, the new Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale, which will compete in the WRC2 category of the 2026 FIA World Rally Championship.
The announcement marks a new chapter in the brand’s renaissance and offered the opportunity to present the key figures, racing programmes, and the technical link between competition and production.
Lancia’s return to rallying represents a historic milestone for the most successful marque in the discipline: 11 FIA World Rally Constructors’ Championships, 1 Mille Miglia, 2 Targa Florio, and 1 Carrera Panamericana.
This is not a nostalgic operation, but rather a project of evolution — a solid bridge between the brand’s legendary heritage and the challenges of modern motorsport, with concrete investments in young talents and a clear vision for the future.
This approach is already evident in the success of the 2025 Trofeo Lancia, where the Ypsilon Rally4 HF has built a vibrant community of over one hundred cars sold and more than forty competing teams, confirming the effectiveness of the HF family’s development programme.
Alongside the new Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale, the Lancia HF Family includes the Ypsilon Rally4 HF and the Ypsilon HF Racing, designed to make rallying more accessible and cost-efficient, without compromising on safety, performance, or build quality.
All three models are part of the Customer Racing Programme and are available to order through the Stellantis Motorsport Racing Shop.
The cradle of this project is Satory, the headquarters of Stellantis Motorsport — a centre of excellence where cultures and engineering skills from across Europe converge in a single shared vision, working in synergy with Balocco (Italy), where all Lancia vehicles are developed and tested, and Turin, the cradle of Lancia design.
It is within this constant dialogue that Lancia’s true value takes shape: transforming competition experience into tangible innovation for the road.
This technology transfer is already visible in the Ypsilon HF 280-hp electric version, the brand’s first 100% electric performance model.
It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds, features a 54-kWh battery (with around 370 km WLTP range), adds 100 km of range in just 10 minutes of fast charging, and incorporates several race-inspired solutions — from Alcon 355-mm brakes to a Torsen limited-slip differential, and Level-2 ADAS.
Next to it, the Ypsilon HF Line brings the HF design language and sporting attitude to more accessible powertrains, while preserving the brand’s timeless blend of elegance and performance.
Roberta Zerbi, CEO of Lancia, said: “Lancia’s return to WRC is the result of a journey built on humility, determination, and Italian pride. We are fully aware of our legendary heritage, but far from intimidating us, it inspires us to give our very best ancia is back in competition, with its unmistakable style and boldness.”
The Satory event also featured Jean-Marc Finot (Senior Vice President, Stellantis Motorsport), who highlighted the synergies across the Group’s racing brands and its shared performance culture, as well as François Wales, Head of Stellantis Motorsport Customer Racing and Sports Vehicles, who presented the technical development of the new Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale and the 2026 sporting roadmap.
Eugenio Franzetti (Director, Lancia Corse HF) reviewed the results of the 2025 Trofeo Lancia, while Miki Biasion, two-time World Rally Champion and technical consultant for the project, underlined the emotional and symbolic value of this return: “Seeing Lancia back in rallying feels like closing a circle. I’ve seen these cars take shape, I contributed to their testing, and I now work alongside the young drivers of the programme. It’s thrilling to know that once again, when someone dreams of rallying, they dream of Lancia.”
2. THE ROLE OF STELLANTIS MOTORSPORT
Satory, home to the Stellantis Motorsport headquarters, is far more than a symbolic location — it is a true centre of excellence, where technology and passion coexist every day.
Here, French, Italian, German and Spanish engineers work side by side, united by a single ambition: to create the best competition cars in the world. It is the beating heart of a Group that has successfully merged diverse cultures and skills under a single vision — to develop a new generation of vehicles in which performance, reliability and beauty are expressed through one coherent technical and aesthetic language.
Satory is not “French” and Balocco is not “Italian”: they are two complementary centres of excellence.
From Satory come Stellantis Motorsport’s technical expertise, its experience across the most demanding disciplines, and its proven ability to transfer know-how from racing to road cars.
From Balocco, in northern Italy, come engineering tradition and the dynamic sensitivity that characterise every Lancia.
Between these two hubs runs a constant dialogue — of testing, data, development kilometres and human talent — that fuels a real synergy, transforming passion into process and technology into emotion.
As Jean-Marc Finot, Senior Vice President of Stellantis Motorsport, underlined, Lancia today benefits from the full experience accumulated across the Group’s major programmes — from customer racing to endurance, and even into production development.
The same engineers who worked on the very successful Citroën and Peugeot WRC programmes (13 FIA World Rally Championship titles & 150 victories) and on the other manufacturer programmes (WEC & Formula E) have also contributed to the creation of the new Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale, ensuring a consistent engineering approach and technical robustness across platforms.
Within Stellantis Motorsport, a coherent performance pyramid has been built, enabling young crews to progress step by step through the various FIA rally categories — from Rally6 to Rally2 — along a pathway that blends training, accessibility and competitiveness.
The new Rally6 regulations, promoted by Stellantis and approved by the FIA, have further reinforced Lancia’s leadership and visibility in this process.
Every project is conceived to combine technical excellence with brand identity, merging engineering precision with the unique DNA of each marque. All cars are tested on both sides of the Alpine passes for fine-tuning of powertrain and traction, with additional development sessions at Balocco, where reliability, handling response and driving pleasure are validated.
This is the essence of Stellantis Motorsport’s shared performance culture — an ecosystem where every technical achievement becomes a collective asset, and every car — from a Formula E single-seater to a Rally2 contender — embodies a truly international vision, rooted in European talent and passion.
3. THE BIRTH OF THE LANCIA WRC2 PROGRAMME
The new Lancia WRC2 programme stems from an extensive joint development effort between Lancia and Stellantis Motorsport, bringing to the brand over a decade of success and technical expertise accumulated in the Rally2 category and in major international championships.
The goal is clear: to bring Lancia back to the highest level of world rallying with a competitive project consistent with the brand’s values and built to the Group’s highest technical standards.
At the centre of this journey stands the Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale, an entirely new car that benefits from the experience gained over multiple racing seasons.
All the improvements, evolutions and optimisations developed over the years have been integrated into a single platform, focused on seven key development areas:
- Weight and balance, with significant mass reduction and a lower centre of gravity.
- Advanced aerodynamics, improving downforce and stability at high speed.
- Engine performance and drivability, featuring a turbo management system derived from the Peugeot 9X8 architecture and a new anti-lag system (ALS).
- Transmission with revised gear ratios and differentials optimised for all surfaces.
- Chassis and suspension fine-tuned to deliver class-leading performance on both tarmac and gravel.
- Driver environment, redesigned for maximum ergonomics, comfort and concentration.
- Bodyshell and roll cage, entirely new to ensure superior rigidity and full FIA safety compliance.
Developed through an intense programme of testing and validation — conducted on both sides of the Alpine mountain roads and at the Balocco proving ground — the new Rally2 HF Integrale blends engineering precision with Lancia identity, aiming to position itself among the top contenders in the category.
Each car has been engineered in collaboration with the same teams involved in the Group’s WRC2, ERC, endurance and customer racing programmes, ensuring technical coherence and cross-programme robustness rarely seen in the current motorsport landscape.
In parallel, Lancia becomes an integral part of the Stellantis Motorsport performance pyramid, a comprehensive structure covering all FIA rally categories — from Rally6 to Rally4 to Rally2.
This strategy, supported by the new Rally6 regulations promoted by Stellantis and approved by the FIA, enables young crews to progress through a consistent technical and training pathway, from their first steps in competition to the highest professional level.
As highlighted by François Wales, the Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale is not only the symbol of Lancia’s return to the world championship, but also the culmination of a programme that spans the entire modern rally spectrum:
- the Ypsilon HF Racing, an entry-level training car compliant with the new FIA Rally6 class;
- the Ypsilon Rally4 HF, already the star of the Trofeo Lancia;
- and the new Rally2 HF Integrale, designed to compete at the top of international rallying.
In 2026, Lancia will make its official debut in the FIA WRC2, with a clear ambition to win rallies and fight for the championship title, entering at least eight events, starting from the Rallye Monte-Carlo.
In parallel, the car will also compete in the FIA European Rally Championship (ERC) and in major national championships — including Italy, France, Spain and Belgium.
The first customer deliveries are scheduled for the first quarter of 2026 through the Stellantis Motorsport Racing Shop, in full compliance with the FIA cost-cap policy for Rally2 cars.
The commercial programme aims to expand Stellantis’ market share in customer racing and to consolidate Lancia’s position as a benchmark brand for performance, build quality and design in the modern rally scene.
With the Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale, Lancia reaffirms its pioneering role: to compete with passion, innovate with method, and inspire a new generation of drivers.
4. THE LANCIA HF FAMILY
With the brand-new Ypsilon Rally2 HF, the family of road and competition cars celebrating the return of the legendary HF logo and the unmistakable Red Elephant is now complete — both timeless symbols of Lancia’s most sporting soul.
An inheritance deeply rooted in international rally victories and in the emotions of enthusiasts across the world, reborn today in a modern form — faithful to its origins, yet projected towards new, adrenaline-filled challenges and a new vision of sustainable, accessible performance mobility.
Below is an overview of the models that are redefining Lancia’s future through a perfect balance of elegance, innovation, and performance.
Lancia Ypsilon HF Racing
The Lancia Ypsilon HF Racing has been developed to make the world of competition more accessible to a new generation of drivers — without any compromise in performance, safety, or build quality, yet with exceptionally low running costs.
At its core lies a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbo engine delivering 145 hp and 240 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed short-ratio manual gearbox and a mechanical limited-slip differential, ensuring responsiveness and precision.
The body structure is shared with the Ypsilon Rally4, making it exceptionally safe relative to its performance level and fully FIA compliant.
Equipped with a certified roll cage and safety systems meeting international standards, the car places safety at the forefront. The braking system features 302-mm front discs and 290-mm rear discs for strong, consistent stopping power under all conditions, with a mechanical handbrake for rally-style control.
Every aspect of the Ypsilon HF Racing’s development has been focused on creating an agile, high-content, low-cost car — an ideal tool for learning and mastering rally driving techniques. Developed with input from professional rally drivers and tested extensively on dynamic courses, the car embodies the brand’s defining values: dynamism, accessibility, and driving pleasure.
Priced at €38,900 (excl. VAT) and delivered in “ready-to-race” configuration, it is aimed at a wide and diverse audience, helping to spread an inclusive and innovative motorsport culture.
Lancia Ypsilon Rally4 HF
Inspired by the iconic Fulvia Coupé HF of the 1960s — with its front-wheel-drive layout, compact dimensions, and pure driving enjoyment — the Ypsilon Rally4 HF is the result of a collaboration between Lancia, the most successful rally brand of all time, and the Stellantis Motorsport team, which boasts 11 Dakar victories and 27 FIA World Rally Constructors’ titles.
The project is enhanced by partnerships with leading automotive and motorsport suppliers: Marelli (engine management system), Sparco (roll cage, racing seats, steering wheel, and official fireproof apparel), TM Technologies (braking system), Speedline (alloy wheels), and Supersprint (exhaust system).
At its heart, the Ypsilon Rally4 HF features a 1.2-litre turbocharged 3-cylinder engine producing 212 hp, coupled with a five-speed sequential gearbox supplied by SADEV and a mechanical limited-slip differential, ensuring optimal traction and power delivery.
The braking system includes 330-mm ventilated front discs (asphalt configuration), allowing powerful and consistent braking — essential for tight and technical rally stages.
The McPherson suspension with Ohlins three-way adjustable dampers ensures precise tuning for any surface and driving style.
The spirited Ypsilon Rally4 HF is available through the Stellantis Motorsport Racing Shop at a price of €74,500, making it a competitive, reliable, and thrilling machine for both privateers and professional teams.
Lancia Ypsilon HF – 280 hp Electric
The all-new Lancia Ypsilon HF 280 hp embodies the most dynamic and performance-oriented expression of the brand. With its lowered stance, wider track (+30 mm), and muscular design, it draws inspiration from Lancia’s most radical icons, where form always serves function.
As the halo car of the new Lancia range, the Ypsilon HF has been conceived to showcase the full strength of the brand’s values — style, performance, and innovation.
Powered by a 100% electric 280-hp powertrain (207 kW, 345 Nm), the car sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds and delivers up to 370 km WLTP range thanks to its 54-kWh lithium-ion battery (400V), with fast charging capability adding 100 km in just 10 minutes.
Visually, the model’s design immediately conveys its HF identity: a dedicated front bumper with HF emblem, 18-inch alloy wheels, rear diffuser, and specific wheel arches, complemented by a 20-mm lower ride height and HF black-and-red detailing.
The design language follows Lancia’s new Pu+Ra philosophy — pure and radical — reinterpreting classic cues such as Stratos-inspired circular taillights and sculpted, minimalist surfaces.
Inside, the atmosphere is immersive and technical: laser-cut Econyl sport seats inspired by the Delta Evoluzione, a perforated leather steering wheel with HF logo, aluminium pedals, and the latest S.A.L.A. infotainment interface with chromatic blue–orange accents.
The HF driving dynamics are ensured by a Torsen limited-slip differential, a high-performance Alcon braking system with 355-mm discs and 4-piston calipers, and a reinforced chassis (+67% front stiffness, +153% rear anti-roll). Together, these upgrades deliver a driving experience that is precise, engaging, and emotionally authentic, while maintaining Lancia’s hallmark comfort and refinement.
The Ypsilon HF also integrates the most advanced ADAS Level 2 systems and a comprehensive equipment package, including a 10.25" digital cluster, wireless connectivity, automatic climate control, and ambient lighting. Available in Ardesia Black, Quarzo White, and Lava Orange — the latter a tribute to the legendary Fulvia and Stratos — the model represents the most radical and technological evolution of Lancia’s new generation.
Lancia Ypsilon HF Line
The Lancia Ypsilon HF Line showcases a bold and instantly recognisable character.
Its sculpted front bumper integrates the HF logo and the Red Elephant emblem, while 17-inch alloy wheels enhance its dynamic presence. Inside, the cabin is designed to stir emotion: contrast orange stitching, “cannelloni”-pattern sport seats, and a perforated leather steering wheel with HF badge evoke the brand’s iconic performance heritage.
The digital experience evolves with the new S.A.L.A. HF interface, featuring a 10.25” dual-screen layout with HF-specific graphics, complemented by dark trim accents and aluminium pedals.
The standard equipment includes keyless entry with proximity sensor, Level-2 assisted driving, blind-spot monitoring, driver fatigue detection, front and rear cameras and parking sensors, and a drive mode selector.
Powered by the latest-generation 1.2-litre 48V hybrid engine delivering 110 hp (81 kW) through a dual-clutch automatic transmission, the Ypsilon HF Line redefines the concept of urban sportiness.
Performance figures are impressive: 0–100 km/h in 9.3 seconds, with CO₂ emissions of just 105 g/km (WLTP) — striking a perfect balance between performance and sustainability.
Offered in Quarzo White, Lava Orange, and Ardesia Black (with optional black roof on the first two), the Ypsilon HF Line brings Lancia’s sporty elegance into everyday driving, with a design and spirit unmistakably true to the HF legend.

The Trofeo Lancia has once again proven the strength of its winning formula, combining competition and accessibility, and attracting both seasoned drivers and emerging young talents eager to showcase their skills behind the wheel of the Ypsilon Rally4 HF.
Throughout the season, the Trophy accounted for about 25% of total entries in the Italian Rally Championship — a clear indication of its impact. Equally impressive was the passion of the public: thousands of fans filled the Lancia Villages at each event, celebrating the brand’s return and reliving the unique emotions that link generations of enthusiasts.
Visitors could admire the full Ypsilon range alongside historic icons such as the Rally 037 and the Delta Integrale, and meet the protagonists of the Trophy — a vivid demonstration that the authentic Lancia racing spirit is alive and thriving.
Undisputed star of the season, the Ypsilon Rally4 HF once again proved its outstanding capabilities — combining precise handling, lively engine performance and remarkable reliability on every surface.
2026 Outlook – WRC2, ERC and National Championships
Building on the achievements of 2025, Lancia’s next challenge begins in 2026.
