After the summer break, the 2025 Lancia Trofeo returns to full throttle, with tension running high. The championship resumes with the Rally del Lazio Cassino (September 13–14), already one of the most anticipated races of the year, setting the stage for the grand finale in Sanremo where the titles will be decided.
In a season filled with excitement and surprises, this round marks a historic step: Rally del Lazio Cassino makes its debut in the Campionato Italiano Assoluto Rally Sparco (CIAR), immediately securing a spot among the season’s must-watch events. Organized by M33 and Max Rendina, the rally brings the competition to the heart of the province of Frosinone, along a route stretching from the Apennines to the Tyrrhenian Sea. Twelve special stages and over 110 competitive kilometers, with start and finish in Cassino’s city center, promise pure adrenaline for fans and spectators alike.
This decisive round puts the spotlight back on the 2025 Lancia Trofeo, one of the most exciting single-make series of the year, offering not only a €360,000 prize pool but also a dream opportunity: the overall Under 35 winner will join the Lancia Corse HF Team and compete in the 2026 FIA ERC at the wheel of an official Ypsilon Rally4 HF.
The Rally del Lazio Cassino could prove to be a true turning point in the season, setting the tone for Sanremo’s finale just a month away. But the story is still to be written. Gianandrea Pisani currently leads both the overall and Master standings, closely pursued by Giorgio Cogni in both categories. Davide Pesavento sits third overall, while Andrea Mazzocchi and Federico Francia share third place in the Master ranking—closely challenged by an increasingly convincing Edoardo De Antoni. Among the Juniors, the duel between Gabriel Di Pietro and Nicolò Ardizzone continues, with Pesavento ready to seize any opportunity. Asia Vidori, the young lady driver, will also return in Cassino, adding a splash of pink to the podium battle. In the Expert category, Emanuele Fiore leads the standings, chased closely by Poland’s Dariusz Polonski and Pierluigi Maurino. After a setback at Rally di Roma Capitale, all eyes are on Denis Vigliaturo, determined to bounce back and reclaim lost ground.
The action begins Friday morning with the opening special stage – Pico – starting at 9:00. But the excitement will already kick off Thursday evening, when, from 20:30 onwards, all teams will be presented to the public on the ceremonial start stage in Corso della Repubblica in Cassino’s city center.
With more than 100 Ypsilon Rally4 HF already sold and 40 teams registered, the Lancia Trofeo confirms its technical and sporting success, providing a real proving ground where both young talents and experienced drivers face off in a thrilling challenge.
The absolute protagonist of the Trofeo, the Ypsilon Rally4 HF, embodies Lancia’s racing spirit with a 1.2L turbo engine producing 212 hp, 5-speed SADEV sequential gearbox, 3-way adjustable Öhlins suspension, and a dedicated braking system with 330 mm ventilated discs. Michelin Pilot Sport tires (19/63-17) deliver top performance in both dry and wet conditions, while the front-wheel drive layout with mechanical limited-slip differential ensures outstanding agility and precision. The setup, fine-tuned by rally legend and two-time World Champion Miki Biasion, gives the car a perfect balance of power, stability, and driving fun.
Alongside it, the new Ypsilon HF Racing—unveiled last July—was created as an entry-level step into the rally pyramid. Featuring a 1.2L 3-cylinder turbo engine with 145 hp, 6-speed manual gearbox, body derived from the Rally4 HF with FIA-homologated roll cage and state-of-the-art safety systems, it is offered at €38,900 (excluding VAT). With its ready-to-race configuration and first deliveries expected after summer, the HF Racing represents the ideal gateway to rallying for young drivers eager to grow in motorsport.
With these two models, Lancia’s return to motorsport proves to be not only a sporting project but also the celebration of a brand identity that has written legendary pages in automotive history. The historic HF badge, symbol of Lancia’s most high-performance models, comes back to life on both road and rally cars, ready to lead a new generation of high-performance vehicles and revive the winning spirit that made Lancia an icon forever.
