Yesterday evening, Maserati and Ermenegildo Zegna hosted the fourth and last of the international One of 100 events: the first evening was held in Shanghai in July 2014, followed by New York in September 2014, Dubai in March 2015 and, to finish, the concluding event held yesterday at the Zegna Group showrooms in Milan.
All four events were carefully planned to provide the best possible backdrop for a number of different focal activities: presentation of the Quattroporte Zegna Limited Edition to a selected audience; celebration of the partnership between two great Italian brands, who take Italian crafted quality and excellence to its highest levels; the creation of expectation for the new interiors styled for the Maserati Ghibli and Quattroporte by Ermenegildo Zegna, recently presented to the international press and available from mid September, and last but not least the launch of the book One of 100, with shots of the hands of 100 eminent personalities taken by famous Italian photographer Fabrizio Ferri during each of the international events which began a year ago.
The 100 subjects of the photographs, who include musicians, chefs, sports personalities and craftsmen and women, were chosen because the use of their hands is vital to what they do. The book One of 100 recounts the close relationship between hands and the Quattroporte and the core values which the two brands share with hand-made objects, in a unique blend of master-craftsmanship, luxury and elegance. As well as the photographs of the hands, the book also features shots of details of the Quattroporte Ermenegildo Zegna Limited Edition and the owners kit, a set of accessories specially created for this limited edition.
To underline the importance of the tradition and craftsmanship the two brands share, Maserati and Zegna will be the first two companies to finance the restoration of the monumental Fountain of Neptune in Bologna, which inspired Mario Maserati to design the Trident logo that still symbolises the brand so effectively today.
