Maserati is the official car partner for BASELWORLD 2016

The world’s biggest Watch and Jewellery Show also presenting the new SUV Levante in Basel 

Maserati is the official car partner for the World Watch and Jewellery Show, BASELWORLD, the sector's largest event - bringing together every year about 122,000 visitors and more than 1,400 exhibitors, including some of the world's most prestigious and renowned brands.

As the event's official vehicle supplier, Maserati is providing a fleet of 20 Maserati Quattroporte and Ghibli, which will be used from March 17 to March 24 2016 to transport the VIP guests between the various exhibition stands and locations in Basel.

BASELWORLD also offers the perfect opportunity to present its clients and all aficionados the exclusivity of Maserati. During the fair, the renowned brand with the trident logo thus invites all visitors into the Maserati lounge, located between Hall 1 and Hall 5, to explore not only the vehicles but also the new merchandising line and the distinctive and exceptional limited-edition watch: the Bulgari Octo Maserati chronograph. The Octo Maserati expresses the quintessence of a vision of elegance fully shared by the two Italian Houses keen to provide an imaginative and perfect response to a desire for high standards and elegance.

Another highlight in Basel this year is the new Maserati Levante, the first SUV model in the history of Maserati to compete the brand’s range. As with many Maseratis from the past, the new car's name is inspired by a wind the Levante is a warm Mediterranean wind that can change from a light breeze to an irresistible natural force in an instant, mirroring the character of the first Maserati SUV.

Design, Exclusivity and Performance are the key characteristics for describing this new Maserati. Distinctively Italian in style, with breathtaking and iconic Maserati design features. The interior has been created with the finest materials, most exquisite to the touch, from optional premium leather to Ermenegildo Zegna silk, made in Trivero by the Zegna wool mill with a patented process.

The spaciousness of the interior, enhanced by the panoramic electric sunroof, is combined with coupé sleek external lines and the best aerodynamic efficiency in its category. The new Maserati SUV is based on the Quattroporte and Ghibli architecture, further evolved and refined  to meet the expectations of this market segment, in which Maserati will compete for the first time.

The Levante is fitted with a 3 liters V6 TwinTurbo petrol engine with 430hp, and a 275hp 3 liters V6 Turbo Diesel. All engines are combined with the “Q4” intelligent all-wheel-drive system which can transfer torque between the axles instantaneously when required and an 8speed automatic gearbox, with integrated Start & Stop System.
