The Trofeo Maserati GranTurismo MC in England for the Third Round

The third round of the Trofeo Maserati GranTurismo MC will be contended this weekend at the Brands Hatch circuit in England, concurrently with the sixth round of the WTCC (World Tour Car Championship).

Maserati’s Trofeo formula consists of two free practices on Friday (40 minutes), two qualifying practices on Saturday (20’) and two races (38’ plus one lap) on Sunday.

Among the drivers racing in England, the Goldstein/Sundberg duo-who is at the top of the standings-will try to lengthen the distance between themselves and the rest, while the Petrini/Moncada duo, currently fourth, will attempt to climb positions. The English driver Pat Blakeney will be debuting in the championship on behalf of Thruxton Racing.

Two cars assigned to journalists will also be there. Roberto Giordanelli, for Auto Italia magazine, returns to the Trofeo after participating in Silverstone both in 2005 and 2006. Richard Maeden will also be back with Roeger Green, both of whom are Evo magazine journalists. Maeden participated in a race in 2004 as well as in Nuerburgring’s 24 Hours in 2006 and got fifth place driving the Maserati GranSport Trofeo.

During the round in England, Maserati will host a series of initiatives for its customers: brand and product range promotional activities and marketing.

Eurosport will broadcast highlights of the Maserati championship on Sunday evening within the Motorsports Weekend show, in addition to airing an in-depth summary of the two races on subsequent days.
Video clips will be posted and made available after the day of the race on www.thenewsmarket.com andwww.maseraticorse.com (where interviews to all the drivers will be published).

RMC (Radio Monte Carlo) is the Trofeo’s Media Partner. It is dedicating two reports for every round, included in the weekly RMC Motori program, in the Saturday special (12:30-1pm) or in the RMC Music & Sports (2pm-6pm) show on Sundays.
