Leapmotor hosted its International Media Drive event in Spain, welcoming leading European automotive journalists to experience the all-new Leapmotor B03X B-segment 100% electric Crossover.

The event took place in Marbella, Andalusia, one of Spain's most vibrant regions, renowned for its year-round sunshine, spectacular landscapes and rich cultural heritage.

Orders for the Leapmotor B03X opened across the European dealer network in July, marking the start of the model's commercial rollout and reinforcing Leapmotor's ambitions to accelerate growth in key European markets.

Built around three defining pillars, Compact, Practical and Tech-driven, the model has been designed to respond to the changing needs of modern customers seeking a vehicle that seamlessly adapts between city living, daily family use and active lifestyles.
 

Compact by design, perfect for the city
The B03X brings genuine SUV character and versatility into a compact, city-friendly format: it opens a new territory for the brand, combining urban freedom, thoughtful functionality, effortless manoeuvrability and versatile space in a single vehicle.

With a length of 4.270 mm, a width of 1.810 mm and a height of 1.635 mm, with a generous 2.605 mm wheelbase, the B03X delivers the ideal balance between urban agility and interior spaciousness. Its compact footprint, combined with a tight 10-meter turning diameter, makes it perfectly suited to city environments, where manoeuvrability and ease of parking are essential. At the same time, its elevated seating position and confident proportions provide the commanding stance and ease of access typically associated with larger SUVs.

Clean surfaces, balanced proportions and purposeful design choices combine practicality with strong visual exterior appeal. Distinctive styling cues include the signature front LED light bar with its friendly "smile effect", flush pop-out door handles, a floating roof design and unique rear lighting inspired by a smiley-face graphic signature, giving the B03X a confident yet approachable personality.

Thanks to its dedicated EV platform, optimized wheelbase and flat-floor architecture, the vehicle delivers outstanding passenger accommodation and delivers impressive interior roominess. Passengers benefit from 947 mm of rear legroom, up to 1.009 mm of front headroom and an interior longitudinal space of 2.277 mm, creating a genuinely spacious cabin experience.

Its flexible interior layout, flat cargo floor and numerous cleverly integrated storage solutions make it easy to accommodate everything from passengers and luggage to shopping bags, sports equipment and daily essentials.

Practicality has been engineered into every single aspect of the vehicle. The B03X offers a 510-litre total storage capacity, including the innovative box, a waterproof, washable 105-litre compartment located beneath the trunk floor.

When required, total cargo capacity expands to 1.605 litres with the rear seats folded, while a maximum usable load length of 2.530 mm.

Further enhancing versatility are the innovative rear flexible seats, which allow the rear seat cushions to be lifted, creating additional vertical storage space, as well as 33 intelligently designed storage compartments throughout the cabin.

Inside, the B03X adopts Leapmotor's smart minimalist design philosophy, creating a clean, relaxing and highly intuitive environment. The human-centric interior features soft-touch materials, OEKO-TEX certified upholstery materials and a horizontal dashboard architecture that enhances the feeling of width and openness.

A striking dual-screen layout forms the centrepiece of the interior, combining a 14.6-inch floating central touchscreen with an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster positioned directly within the driver's line of sight.

Technology is at the core of the B03X yet always designed to be accessible and user-friendly. The B03X incorporates Leapmotor's latest generation digital ecosystem, powered by Leap OS 4.0 Plus and the advanced Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processor. The system delivers a smooth smartphone-like experience, supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, online navigation with real-time traffic updates, integrated trip planning and over-the-air updates.

Connected services extend functionality even further through the Leapmotor smartphone app, enabling remote vehicle pre-conditioning, digital key functionality, battery pre-heating, remote climate control, charging scheduling, real-time vehicle monitoring and vehicle location services.
 

Efficiency Performance for everyday driving
Built on Leapmotor's latest dedicated EV architecture, the B03X features a high-efficiency electric powertrain delivering strong performance for both urban and suburban driving.

With a top speed of 160 km/h and 0–100 km/h acceleration in 8.6 seconds, the B03X combines efficiency with dynamic capability, while its front-wheel-drive layout ensures stability and ease of control in daily driving scenarios.

At the core of the vehicle lies Leapmotor's advanced CTC2.0 Plus (Cell-to-Chassis) short-cell battery system. By integrating the battery directly into the vehicle structure, the system lowers the centre of gravity, improves torsional rigidity, enhances safety and contributes to overall driving efficiency.

The B03X is available with a choice of two high-density LFP battery packs, allowing customers to select the configuration that best suits their needs. The Pro combines a 39.8 kWh battery with a 130 kW (176 hp) electric motor, providing up to 292 km of WLTP range. The ProMax version steps up to a 53.0 kWh battery and a 145 kW (197 hp) motor, with range to up to 382 km WLTP. Regardless of the version chosen, drivers benefit from 200 Nm of instantly available torque, smooth acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds, and a top speed of 160 km/h.

Both battery packs support 2.5C fast charging, allowing charging from 30% to 80% in just 16 minutes.
 

Advanced safety as standard
Safety has been engineered as a fundamental pillar of the B03X from the very beginning, reflecting Leapmotor's commitment to making advanced driver assistance technologies accessible across the entire range. Every Leapmotor B03X comes equipped with comprehensive Level 2 driver assistance capabilities as standard, ensuring a high level of protection, confidence and convenience for all occupants.

At the heart of the system is an intelligent network of 14 sensors and cameras that continuously monitor the vehicle's surroundings and driving environment. Powered by advanced software and high-speed data processing, this sensing architecture supports 21 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) designed to enhance awareness, reduce driver workload and help mitigate potential hazards.

Additional technologies such as Traffic Jam Assist support the driver in stop-and-go urban traffic, making everyday commuting more comfortable and less stressful. Meanwhile, Driver Fatigue Monitoring continuously evaluates driving behaviour and provides alerts when signs of reduced attention are detected, helping to improve safety on longer journeys.

Combined with the B03X's robust vehicle structure and comprehensive passive safety systems, these intelligent technologies create a reassuring driving experience that is equally suited to busy city streets, suburban routes and longer motorway journeys. The result is a compact crossover that not only delivers advanced connectivity and everyday practicality but also provides the peace of mind expected by today's safety-conscious customers.

The B03X line-up has been designed with simplicity and customer clarity at its core, following the same straightforward approach that characterises the wider Leapmotor family: two clearly differentiated trims, LIFE and DESIGN.

The LIFE trim focuses on delivering exceptional value, practicality and everyday usability. Available with both the 39.8 kWh and 53.0 kWh battery options, it combines high-level of comfort, safety and advanced technology. It features an automatic climate control, an eco-leather steering wheel, LED headlights, roof rails, seven airbags, 21 ADAS functions, rain sensors, a 14.6-inch central touchscreen paired with an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, a six-speakers audio system, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Distinctive 18-inch alloy wheels further enhance the vehicle's contemporary character.

The DESIGN trim. adds a more premium experience through eco-leather seats, a six-way electrically adjustable driver's seat, heated front seats and steering wheel, and an automatically folding rear-view mirror. Additional convenience and safety features include front parking sensors and a 360-degree camera system, while the interior atmosphere is elevated by a 12-speaker audio system and ambient lighting. The Design trim is offered exclusively with the 53.0 kWh battery.
