The creation of a better world, to make it more sustainable, more innovative and even more stylish. This is how Lancia imagines its future, where technology goes hand in hand with the respect for the environment and where style constitutes one of the engines of change. These are the inspirational principles that resulted in the Lancia Ypsilon e-scooter, the new electric scooter, created from the collaboration between Lancia and MT Distribution, an Italian company with long-standing know-how in the field of electric urban micromobility.
The Ypsilon e-scooter comes in two colors, Maryne and Gold with personalization born from the collaboration of MT and Lancia with Pininfarina. It facilitates customers’ movements through the city streets once they have parked their car. Fitted with a 250-W brushless motor, a technology requiring minimal maintenance and guaranteeing high performance, it can be used as a genuine means of transport to travel up to 18 km independently. Its aluminum frame and easy-folding closure ensure lightness and practicality, making it convenient to use in combination or as an alternative to other means of transport. Together with the front suspension, the convenient 8'” honeycomb wheels cushion bumps in the road, ensuring greater comfort. The driving experience is made even safer by the front and rear LED lights, which fit harmoniously into the scooter lines, embellishing its profile.
Elegant and innovative, the new Ypsilon e-scooter is in perfect harmony with the spirit of the New Ypsilon Ecochic. A best-seller with a 35-year history, 4 generations, 35 special series, and sales of over 3 million units, the Lancia Ypsilon continues its constant contemporaneity, establishing itself as the only fashion city car in its segment. For 10 years, it has featured on the B-segment podium in Italy, is the second best-selling car in the market overall, and has for over 3 years been stably confirmed as the sales leader in its segment. In the first 5 months of 2021, it racked up 22,800 registrations and a market share of 13.8%.
Altogether, over 34,000 Lancia Ypsilon Hybrid models have been sold since launch, almost 20,000 of which in 2021.
The Lancia Ypsilon is therefore a clear expression of beauty, innovation and timeless style. It has done so most of all with its distinctive, seductive look, made even more contemporary by the return of the vertical grille, a stylistic canon from the Lancia cars of the past. Another factor is the chevron motif on the seats, also upholstered in SEAQUAL® YARN. A style that has thus become more modern, high-tech and environment-friendly, while always retaining its incredible elegance. The Lancia Ypsilon comes with a range of 100% EcoChic engines, made up of the new Mild Hybrid and the LPG and methane versions – adapted to comply with the Euro 6D Final regulations, further reducing consumption and emissions.
