2025 marked a historic chapter for Lancia in motorsport, with the brand’s official return to competition crowned by the Drivers’ and Manufacturers’ titles in the Italian Two-Wheel-Drive Rally Championship. A double triumph that confirmed the strength of the technical and sporting project and further reinforced the brand’s role within the main Italian rally series.
Building on these solid foundations and the record-breaking numbers achieved last season, the Trofeo Lancia is set to return in style on Italian rally stages in 2026, with a project that combines continuity, ambition and significant new developments. Once again, the absolute protagonist will be the Lancia Ypsilon. In the second edition of the championship signed by the Turin-based brand, the Ypsilon will double its presence: alongside the well-established Ypsilon Rally4 HF, the brand-new Ypsilon HF Racing Rally6 will make its debut, opening the Trophy to a new generation of drivers.
A tradition that continues to evolve without losing its key strengths: strong visibility, tangible support for young talents, one of the richest prize money on the Italian rally scene and the full appeal of the Italian Rally Championship by Sparco. Once again, the CIAR will host all 6 rounds of the 2026 Trofeo Lancia, spread across 5 events, including 1 double-header, following the most iconic stops on the calendar while also keeping an eye on international events. The Rally Il Ciocco will mark the start of the Trofeo Lancia dedicated to the Ypsilon Rally4 HF, while the Due Valli Rally will host the debut of the new Ypsilon HF Racing Rally6. From that point on, both trophies will follow the same calendar.
For this reason, in 2026 the structure that has made the Trofeo a winning project is confirmed in every respect. At the centre of the scene remains the Ypsilon Rally4 HF, which has quickly evolved from a commercial success into a race-winning car. All Trofeo cars will once again be hosted within the Lancia Corse HF Village, the true beating heart of the one-make series: a home for drivers, a reference point for fans, and a space to fully experience the Lancia world, with service area, hospitality and a dedicated public zone.
On the Rally4 front, the generous prize fund that characterized the first edition of the Trofeo is confirmed. Both the overall classification and the 3 dedicated categories will be awarded: Junior, reserved for drivers under 25; Master, for drivers up to 35; and Expert, for drivers over 35. Each round will award dedicated prizes for each category, while the prestigious final prize remains unchanged, offering the Under 35 Champion the opportunity to become an Official Lancia Driver in 2027, in Italy or in Europe.
From a technical perspective, tyres will play a key role, with Michelin ready to introduce a new product designed to further improve vehicle performance and respond to the evolving demands of the Italian Championship, in an increasingly competitive and high-performance context.
The major novelty for 2026 is the introduction of a dedicated class for the brand new Ypsilon HF Racing Rally6, the smallest competition version of the Ypsilon: a true entry-level car that will open the world of rallying to an even broader audience. Rally6 drivers will also benefit from a dedicated prize money, structured according to the same winning formula as the Rally4 category, with race-by-race prizes and a significant final award for the Champion. The new category will follow the Trofeo in the same events as the Rally4 cars, competing in 4 events for a total of 5 races, offering an ideal pathway for both young talents and gentleman drivers eager to challenge themselves with an accessible and rewarding competition car.
All details of the 2026 Trofeo Lancia will be officially unveiled at the Racing Meeting, scheduled for February 7–8 at Vicenza Fair, where the future of Lancia rallying will take shape and entries will officially open.
