LANCIA CORSE HF TARGETS POLAND AS YOUNG TALENTS CONTINUE THEIR ERC TITLE CHALLENGE

Lancia Corse HF heads to the fourth round of the FIA European Rally Championship determined to build on the momentum generated at Rally di Roma Capitale, where the Italian manufacturer's investment in young drivers once again delivered tangible results. The 82nd Rally Poland marks another important step in the development of Lancia's sporting programme, with the brand continuing to combine success at the highest level with a long-term commitment to nurturing emerging talent.

Fresh from their maiden Junior ERC victory, Davide Pesavento and Alessio Angeli arrive in Poland carrying strong momentum. Their commanding performance on home soil elevated the Italian crew to second place in the Junior ERC standings, just two points behind championship leader Timo Schulz. The Rally di Roma Capitale winners will once again spearhead Lancia Corse HF's challenge in both Junior ERC and ERC4, determined to continue their title charge.

Alongside them, Francesco Dei Ceci returns looking to turn around a season that has so far failed to reflect his true potential. The young ACI Team Italia driver will be partnered for the first time by Daiana Darderi, with the new pairing aiming to make an immediate impact and reignite their championship campaign.

Lancia's commitment to young talent is once again reflected in the numbers. No fewer than seven Lancia Ypsilon Rally4 HF entries will contest the ERC4 and Junior ERC categories in Poland, reinforcing the success of a programme that continues to establish itself as one of the most effective driver development platforms in European rallying.

Attention will also focus on Tommaso Sandrin, who arrives in Poland leading the ERC4 championship. The Italian holds a slender three-point advantage over both Pesavento and Schulz, setting up what promises to be one of the closest title battles of the season.

In the top Rally2 category, Andrea Mabellini and Virginia Lenzi continue to spearhead Lancia Corse HF's official FIA European Rally Championship campaign. Currently sitting third in the overall standings, the Italian Crew will be aiming to close the gap to the championship leaders on roads that present an entirely new challenge for every competitor.

After more than two decades on gravel, Rally Poland undergoes a historic transformation for 2026, returning to asphalt for the first time since 2005. The championship moves to the Silesia region in southern Poland, introducing a completely redesigned route that promises to reward precision, commitment and adaptability.

The event begins on Friday evening with the ceremonial start in Katowice, followed by a 2.2-kilometre super special stage through the city streets. Saturday features seven special stages covering 96 competitive kilometres, while Sunday's finale includes a further seven stages and 89.4 kilometres against the clock, bringing the total competitive distance to 187.6 kilometres across 15 stages.

Although now contested on asphalt, Rally Poland retains its reputation as one of the championship's fastest events. One of the most distinctive sections will be the gravel stretch within the Ochaby special stage, known as "The Swamp", where marshland surrounding the road creates unique conditions and demands maximum precision from the crews.

As the FIA European Rally Championship enters the second half of the season, Rally Poland represents another opportunity for Lancia Corse HF to demonstrate the strength of a programme built around performance, innovation and the development of future champions. From the overall FIA ERC battle to the fiercely contested Junior ERC and ERC4 categories, the Italian manufacturer continues to prove that investing in young talent remains at the heart of its return to international rallying.
