LANCIA CORSE HF CELEBRATES YOUNG TALENT AS PESAVENTO WITH LANCIA YPSILON, CLAIMS JUNIOR ERC VICTORY IN ROME

• Davide Pesavento and Alessio Angeli secure victory in both Junior ERC and ERC4 aboard the Lancia Ypsilon Rally4 HF
• Tommaso Sandrin finishes fourth in ERC4 and retains the championship lead, while Pesavento climbs to second in the Junior ERC standings

Lancia Corse HF leaves Rally di Roma Capitale with more than just strong results. The third round of the FIA European Rally Championship confirmed the rapid development of the Italian manufacturer's sporting programme, with its young drivers delivering standout performances across the ERC support categories while the Rally2 crews continued to demonstrate the competitiveness of the Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale against one of the strongest fields of the season.

The headline result came in Junior ERC and ERC4, where Davide Pesavento and Alessio Angeli produced an outstanding performance to claim victory aboard the Lancia Ypsilon Rally4 HF. After a composed and mature drive on one of the championship's most demanding asphalt rallies, the Italian crew leaves Rome second in the Junior ERC standings, further establishing itself among Europe's most promising young pairings.

Another impressive display came from Tommaso Sandrin and Andrea Dal Maso. Just missing out on the podium with fourth place in ERC4, the Italian duo nevertheless retained the championship lead, underlining the consistency that has characterised their season so far.

Together, the performances of Pesavento and Sandrin further reinforce the effectiveness of Lancia Corse HF's driver development programme, which continues to identify and nurture the next generation of Italian rally talent through a structured pathway from Rally4 to the highest levels of international competition.

In the overall classification, Yoann Bonato was the highest-placed Lancia driver in fifth position, while Andrea Mabellini and Virginia Lenzi, together with Yohan Rossel, both finished inside the top ten. Mabellini's eighth-place finish earns crucial championship points, moving the official Lancia Corse HF crew up to third in the FIA European Rally Championship standings.

The event proved particularly frustrating for Andrea Crugnola, who had been leading the rally before an error on Stage 7 brought his challenge to an early end. Prior to his retirement, the reigning Italian champion had demonstrated the pace of the Lancia Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale by claiming two fastest stage times and adding third place on the Power Stage.

The Rome weekend also provided an important opportunity for Lancia's WRC2 drivers to gain valuable experience on roads that will join the FIA World Rally Championship calendar in 2027. Yohan Rossel completed a productive event inside the top ten, while Nikolay Gryazin showed encouraging pace before a gearbox issue forced his retirement.

The Trofeo Lancia once again demonstrated its growing strength at Rally di Roma Capitale, delivering two fiercely contested rounds characterised by exceptional competitiveness and remarkably close battles across the special stages. The opening leg, contested over Friday and Saturday, saw Moreno Cambiaghi claim victory ahead of Mattia Vita and Junior championship leader Nicolò Ardizzone. Sunday's second leg produced another thrilling contest, with Simone Di Giovanni taking the win ahead of Edoardo De Antoni and Cambiaghi, completing an all-Master category podium.

Among the championship's youngest competitors, Ardizzone once again underlined his potential by securing a clean sweep of the Junior category, extending his lead in the standings. Christian Casadei continued to dominate the Expert category, while Di Giovanni's victory in the second leg, combined with another consistent weekend, moved him back to the top of both the overall and Master championship standings.

The results further highlight the role of the Trofeo Lancia as the cornerstone of the brand's driver development programme. More than simply a one-make championship, it has established itself as a highly competitive platform where emerging talents and experienced competitors can develop side by side, offering a genuine pathway towards higher levels of national and international rallying.

As expected, Rally di Roma Capitale once again proved one of the most selective events on the FIA ERC calendar. High temperatures, constantly changing grip levels and stages heavily affected by corner-cutting created extremely challenging conditions throughout the weekend, rewarding crews capable of combining outright speed with consistency and precision.

With victory in Junior ERC, continued championship leadership in ERC4 and another solid haul of points in Rally2, Lancia Corse HF leaves its home event with renewed confidence and further proof that its long-term strategy is delivering results. As the European season reaches its halfway point, the Italian manufacturer continues to establish itself as one of the championship's leading forces—not only through the competitiveness of the Ypsilon range, but also through its commitment to developing the rally stars of tomorrow.
