Lancia Corse HF made a solid start to its FIA European Rally Championship campaign at Rally Andalucía – Sierra Morena, showing encouraging pace and strong potential across categories.

Andrea Mabellini and Virginia Lenzi were in the fight from the opening stages, consistently running among the frontrunners. However, the breakthrough performance came on the final test, Villanueva del Rey 2 (13.7 km), where the Italian duo set the fastest time on the Power Stage. Driving the Lancia Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale, the ACI Team Italia crew secured valuable championship points, placing them fifth overall in the standings with 20 points.

The 26-year-old from Brescia had to contend with particularly demanding asphalt conditions throughout the event, with constantly changing grip levels and debris on the road caused by frequent corner cutting. After more than 200 kilometres of competitive stages and against a highly competitive field, Mabellini–Lenzi finished sixth overall, less than one minute behind the rally winner.

A strong performance also came from Finnish crew Tukka Kauppinen and Sebastian Virtanen, who finished just outside the top 10 in a Lancia Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale run by Rautio Motorsport, once again underlining the car’s competitiveness.

Francesco Dei Ceci’s season opener proved more challenging. Co-driven by experienced Danilo Fappani, the 21-year-old ACI Team Italia driver was forced to stop early in the rally after suffering from illness during the opening stages. He later rejoined under SuperRally regulations, allowing him to log crucial kilometres in the Lancia Ypsilon Rally4 HF and build confidence ahead of the next FIA ERC round in Sweden.

Lancia celebrated victory in ERC4 thanks to Aatu Hakalehto and Niklas Heino, who dominated the category with an impressive performance on the Andalusian stages. Completing a strong result for the brand, Tommaso Sandrin and Andrea Dal Maso secured second place in ERC4, delivering a podium where two-thirds of the entries were Lancia Ypsilon Rally4 HF cars.
