Lancia Corse HF celebrates a superb WRC2 victory at Rally Chile Biobío with Yohan Rossel and Arnaud Dunand, who delivered a commanding and consistent performance at the wheel of the Lancia Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale.

Rossel established his pace from the opening kilometres of the rally, remaining firmly at the head of the WRC2 classification and demonstrating an excellent understanding with the car on the fast and technical gravel roads of the Biobío region. The Frenchman claimed nine stage wins from the 16 stages contested, building a clear and convincing victory.

His eighth place overall adds further significance to the result, with Rossel bringing the Lancia Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale into the top five of the overall classification against the Rally1 machinery.

Rossel’s victory also marks Lancia Corse HF’s first gravel win in the FIA World Rally Championship this season, confirming the progress made by the car throughout its first year of Lancia’s official return to the WRC.

Having secured the WRC2 Teams’ World Championship in Paraguay, Lancia Corse HF further consolidates its position with the points scored in Chile, in another rally that provided a strong confirmation of the competitiveness and ongoing development of the Lancia Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale.

The weekend ended prematurely for Nikolay Gryazin and Konstantin Aleksandrov, who were forced to retire after a rollover during the special stage 7. The incident brings Gryazin’s WRC2 Drivers’ Championship challenge to an end, but does not detract from a season that has already delivered a series of strong performances and significant results for Lancia Corse HF.

With Rally Chile Biobío now completed, the championship enters its final phase, with Rally Italia Sardegna and Rally Saudi Arabia still to come. Lancia Corse HF heads into the closing rounds of the season with the satisfaction of having already achieved a historic milestone, while continuing to develop the Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale through to the final stage of the year.

Lancia

With 119 years of history, Lancia is one of the most iconic names in Italian motoring. Long synonymous with elegance, innovation and distinctive character, the brand has created models that have become part of the collective imagination, from the Aurelia B24 Spider to the Flaminia, from the Fulvia to the Beta HPE, and on to the Stratos, 037 and Delta, which wrote some of the most memorable chapters in motorsport history.
Today, Lancia is entering a new phase in its journey, built on a strong Italian identity and a contemporary vision of the brand. The new Ypsilon marked the beginning of this chapter, followed by the brand’s official return to rallying and the arrival of the new Gamma, designed, developed and built in Italy at the Stellantis plant in Melfi. Design, innovation, customer experience and a strong focus on sustainability are driving Lancia’s evolution, with the ambition of reinterpreting for today the values that have always defined the brand’s unique character.
