Following a season that marked Lancia’s official return to the FIA World Rally Championship and culminated in the WRC2 Teams’ World Championship title, the Lancia Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale is set to tackle the final round of the 2026 season on the stages of Rally Italia Sardegna.
Lancia Corse HF will not officially enter the event with the two crews that secured the Teams’ title, but four Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale will be present at the Italian round. Two will be entered by the 2C Junior Team, with Léo Rossel - Guillaume Mercoiret and Conner Martell - Alessandro Gelsomino. The third car will be driven by Pablo Sarrazin – Yannick Roche while the fourth car will be Stefano Avandero and Lorenzo Granai.
Rally Italia Sardegna therefore represents the final gravel event of the season for the Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale in Italy, bringing to a close a first year in the WRC during which the car has progressively built experience and competitiveness across some of the most demanding gravel conditions on the world championship calendar.
The 23rd edition of Rally Italia Sardegna will feature a compact and challenging route based around Alghero. The event will comprise 17 special stages covering a total of 307.15 competitive kilometres, spread across three days of competition.
The rally will get underway on Thursday 1 October with the Monte Baranta shakedown, followed by the spectacular Ittiri Arena Show, a 2.21-kilometre opening stage.
The first full day of competition on Friday 2 October will feature six special stages and 119.66 competitive kilometres, with two passes through Tula-Erula, Su Filigosu-Lerno and Monti di Alà-Sa Conchedda-Lerno.
Saturday 3 October will be the longest day of the rally, with a further six stages and 123.66 competitive kilometres. The crews will tackle two passes through Lerno-Sa Conchedda-Monti di Alà, Coiluna-Loelle and the new Solorché stage near Pattada.
The rally will conclude on Sunday 4 October, with four stages covering 61.62 kilometres. Following two passes through the classic Osilo-Tergu stage, the crews will tackle Sassari-Argentiera twice, with the second pass forming the Wolf Power Stage, before the ceremonial finish in Alghero.
Rally Italia Sardegna is one of the most eagerly anticipated and distinctive events of the season. Its stages are renowned for their narrow and twisting roads, abrasive gravel, constant changes of rhythm and limited margin for error, placing particular demands on tyre management and car control. The 2026 edition will also take place unusually late in the year, in October, bringing the possibility of more variable weather conditions than in the event’s traditional spring slot.
For the Lancia Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale, Rally Italia Sardegna will therefore provide one final opportunity to tackle the gravel stages of the 2026 WRC season, with four cars representing the Lancia Corse HF project at an event that brings a historic year to a close: Lancia’s first official season back in the FIA World Rally Championship, culminating in the WRC2 Teams’ World Championship title.

Lancia
With 119 years of history, Lancia is one of the most iconic names in Italian motoring. Long synonymous with elegance, innovation and distinctive character, the brand has created models that have become part of the collective imagination, from the Aurelia B24 Spider to the Flaminia, from the Fulvia to the Beta HPE, and on to the Stratos, 037 and Delta, which wrote some of the most memorable chapters in motorsport history.
Today, Lancia is entering a new phase in its journey, built on a strong Italian identity and a contemporary vision of the brand. The new Ypsilon marked the beginning of this chapter, followed by the brand’s official return to rallying and the arrival of the new Gamma, designed, developed and built in Italy at the Stellantis plant in Melfi. Design, innovation, customer experience and a strong focus on sustainability are driving Lancia’s evolution, with the ambition of reinterpreting for today the values that have always defined the brand’s unique character.
