Jeep_® is main sponsor of The North Face® Lavaredo Ultra Trail, the trail running competition due to take place on June 28^th in the charming setting of Cortina D'Ampezzo, in the Dolomites.

At its seventh edition this year, The North Face® Lavaredo Ultra Trail is a night-time run open to athletes of all levels of preparation. About 700 runners - including professionals and trail running enthusiasts from all over the world - will take part in the challenging endurance race which will start at 11 p.m. on Friday and will involve the participants for an estimated total time of 31 hours.

The race course extends over 118 km, with the highest point 5,470 metres above the lowest, and embraces

some of the most fascinating locations in the Dolomites: the Cristallo, the Tofane, the Cinque Torri and the Tre Cime di Lavaredo.

Among the participants are the professional athlete Fernanda Maciel from The North Face® International Team and the runner Luca Lamperti: both will be Jeep runners in the race.

A Jeep Wrangler Rubicon will be at the starting line, at the side of the athletes, and will reach the checkpoints along the course thanks to the extraordinary off-road capabilities that belong to the most capable vehicle in the Jeep lineup. The iconic Jeep Wrangler will also be part of the display activity in the customised area within the The North Face space set up in the centre of Cortina. A 'mini' fleet of Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Wrangler Unlimited will be at disposal of the athletes and the organisation during the entire event.

Sponsorship of the Lavaredo Ultra Trail is a further step in the project that sees Jeep alongside The North Face® involved in a large number of national and international events. The basis of this successful and solid partnership which began about two years ago lies in the shared values of adventure, passion and freedom. Besides the commitment to promoting the outdoors, the desire to explore and the determination to overcome all obstacles, both physical and mental, are the distinguishing traits which have always been heralded by the two brands, not only in the sphere of extreme sports but also in everyday life.

As a further confirmation to this, Jeep will offer an exclusive 'Jeep Wrangler Award': a trophy reproducing the characteristic seven-slot grille available on Jeep models. This award will be given to the athlete that will complete the race with the best time among those participating for their first time in the competition.

The initiative also confirms the brand's link with the mountains: for more than two years Jeep has played a leading role in the winter season with the 'JSet' project involving some of Europe's most famous skiing resorts.

On jeep-people.com, it will be possible to follow the Jeep athlete Luca Lamperti as the Lavaredo Ultra Trail unfolds, through the voice narration of Simone Borgioni and Cristina Murgia, competition organisers since the first edition of the race. Both will also be stars of a video clip - starring as special guest Fernanda Marciel - that will allow the Jeep community to experience the atmosphere of the race. A dedicated section will host the bio of Luca Lamperti and his emotions before and after the race. Race updates will also be available on Jeep-People's social channels.
