TURIN, 14 April 2025 - Yesterday afternoon, the Heritage Hub in Turin hosted the inauguration of the fourth edition of “Donne e motori? Gioie e basta” (Women and Motors? Joy, nothing less), the travelling photographic exhibition that explores the relationship between women and motors with elegance and respect, challenging outdated stereotypes. Until 31 May, the exhibition will be open to visitors at the exhibition hub located within the historic industrial complex of Mirafiori (and will always be included in the Heritage Hub admission ticket). The site has recently opened to the public every day except Monday, with tickets available for purchase online at the following link, and with the possibility to choose between a self-guided visit on weekdays and a guided tour at weekends.
The fourth edition of the exhibition is dedicated to the theme “Men alongside women on the path to equality: portraits of alliance, engines of change”. The women featured in the photographs, taken by photographer Camilla Albertini, posed alongside men they personally chose for their tangible commitment to overcoming the gender gap, bearing witness to the fact that gender equality is a shared responsibility. Opening the inauguration were Elisabetta Cozzi, founder and director of the Museo Fratelli Cozzi, and Linda Villano, in her capacity as President of AIDA -Associazione Italiana Donne per l’Automotive, with the participation of Maria Paola Stola and Felipe Vergara.
The preview of the exhibition was naturally integrated into the “Leadership Series” project, an initiative promoted by Women of Stellantis Italia (WoS), the company’s internal association that promotes teamwork and mutual respect. The “Leadership Series” format, dedicated to meetings and discussions with Stellantis top management, drew broad and cross-functional participation, extending beyond the WoS community to an audience from across the company. This inclusive approach reflects WoS’s mission to promote a collaborative environment, foster women’s professional growth and support the development of increasingly inclusive leadership. Santo Ficili, COO of Maserati and CEO of Alfa Romeo, took part in the talk alongside his colleagues Simonetta Cerruti, Chief Commercial Officer Maserati; Erica Ferraioli, Head of Enlarged Europe Alfa Romeo & Lancia Brands; and Rebecca De Masi, Maserati & Alfa Romeo Office, whose professional growth within Stellantis has been supported and fostered by his leadership.
Before the meeting, participants had the opportunity to visit the exhibition, where Camilla Albertini’s photographs enter into dialogue with the automotive heritage preserved at the Heritage Hub, creating a combination of extraordinary coherence. Today, this exhibition venue in Mirafiori has become an attractive destination capable of successfully hosting corporate meetings, workshops and cultural events. This is evidenced by the 27 events organised in 2025 alone, in which the historic values of the automotive industry were skilfully interwoven with contemporary entertainment (For further information and bookings, please write to heritagehub@stellantis.com).
Roberto Giolito, Head of Heritage Hub Italy, said: “Heritage Hub was created as a place of memory, but its deepest vocation is to be a living space, open to dialogue and to the culture of the present. Hosting this compelling exhibition, together with the Women of Stellantis event, is for us a tangible way of connecting two worlds that share the same vision of change. We are not simply making our spaces available but offering a context in which photography becomes a language capable of telling stories, conveying values and expressing relationships, bringing the faces and gestures of the women portrayed into dialogue with the automotive heritage we preserve. Preserving the past to shed light on the future also means offering new perspectives through images, creating a bridge between the history of the automobile, artistic expression and the challenges of contemporary society.”
Elisabetta Cozzi, founder and director of the Museo Fratelli Cozzi, and Linda Villano, President of AIDA, stated: “With hundreds of thousands of visitors and more than 50 exhibition venues reached in the last edition alone, “Women and Motors? Joy, nothing Less” has established itself as one of Italy’s most important cultural projects dedicated to promoting the role of women in the automotive world. In 2025, the exhibition travelled across Italy - from Maranello to Turin, from Bologna to Rome, from Milan to Imola - receiving an extraordinary public response and generating media coverage of national significance. Its impact has also been notable in the digital sphere: before the exhibition, a Google Images search for women and motors returned almost exclusively stereotypical and disrespectful representations, whereas today more than half of the results lead to this evocative photographic project, confirming the start of a tangible cultural shift online as well. Lastly, it is worth noting that the fourth edition of the exhibition is supported by institutional partners - including ASI, ACI Storico, FIVA, LIUC University and AIDA - and has received the patronage of the European Commission and joined the United Nations Women HeForShe programme, as well as benefiting from the support of Hon. Martina Semenzato, President of the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry into femicide and all forms of gender-based violence.”
