Free2Move launches its medium-term car rental offer in Portugal by subscription, with and without commitment

Following the successful launch of its new medium-term rental offer in France, Free2Move has decided to rapidly roll out its Car On Demand solution to other countries, starting with Portugal in March.

Free2Move launches its medium-term car rental offer in Portugal by subscription, with and without commitment

After a conclusive test phase, Free2Move has launched Car On Demand to its French customers and has already registered more than 30,000 subscriptions at the beginning of 2021. Car On Demand is an ultra-flexible, tailor-made monthly subscription service that allows private individuals and professionals to have a vehicle at their disposal for several months, with or without a time commitment, thus allowing them to control their budget.

Car On Demand, an offer that frees you from constraints, with no surprises and no extra costs

This success is due to its flexible formula, Car On Demand offers its customers two formulas:

  • a monthly subscription with no time commitment or constraints, including insurance and delivery, from 350 euros per month,
  • a medium-term commitment of 6 or 12 months, from 299 euros per month.

Depending on their needs of the moment, their budget and the distance they plan to cover, customers select their subscription package and vehicle on the Free2Move website. Then, they choose their vehicle among the latest Stellantis Group models and the engine (combustion, electric or hybrid). He can then change his vehicle, modify his monthly mileage or take a break between two vehicles whenever he wishes. He can also stop the subscription at any time without penalty. The solution is relevant for customers who wish to test electric vehicles before a subscription commitment, knowing that Free2Move will then accompany them in their transition to install their electric charging stations, especially for companies, via Free2Move's Business Solutions.

Car On Demand, an offer adapted to the Portuguese market

Free2Move is already present in Portugal with its car-sharing service in Lisbon, short-term rental (RENT), parking or private driver reservation via the dedicated application, or with its connected fleet management solutions for professionals. It was decided to quickly propose the Car On Demand offer to Portuguese customers as they are still very attached to the use of private cars: 86% of Portuguese prefer to own a car. In the current context, where it can be difficult to invest in a car, Car On Demand is an alternative to buying or leasing.

"Car On Demand is a product in tune with the times because of its flexible nature. It is particularly well suited to the Portuguese market, where the car is still a strong value. It is important for our customers to know that we can adapt to their needs quickly. We are pleased to be able to offer our no-commitment subscription to our Portuguese customers.”

Brigitte Courtehoux, CEO of Free2Move

The monthly subscription model will be a strong trend in the automotive sector over the next few years, and this alternative solution to the existing traditional models responds to the evolution of mobility uses. According to Frost & Sullivan, the subscription market is aiming for 16 million vehicles sold by 2025.
