The new Fiat 124 Spider

Model overview

The new Fiat 124 Spider revives the storied nameplate, bringing its classic styling and typically Italian performance to a new generation. Paying homage to the original 124 Spider that was launched 50 years ago, the new 124 Spider delivers an authentic Italian roadster experience packed with driving excitement, technology and safety, combined with an inimitable Italian design. The new 124 Spider can now be ordered from showrooms of the major European markets. For specific details and prices, visit the local press sites.

The designers at the Fiat Style Centre have created a car that encompasses in a new perspective the classic beauty of its predecessor without betraying its very essence. The front-end is bold without being aggressive and the two small domes on the bonnet give an indication of the engine's power. The side boasts the proportions of a true sports car, suggesting its longitudinal engine and rear-wheel drive mechanical architecture and its retracted passenger compartment.

An exciting drive thanks to skilled design work

In the EMEA region, the Fiat 124 Spider is equipped with the reliable 1.4-litre turbo four-cylinder engine with MultiAir technology, which delivers 140 HP power and 240 Nm of torque, and is available with a six-speed manual transmission. The performance is outstanding, including a top speed of 215 km/h with acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 7.5 seconds.
The 124 Spider's suspension uses a double-wishbone layout in front and a multilink in the rear, specifically tuned for greater stability while braking and turning. Steering is light and responsive with the use of an electric power assist system.
The steering and suspension setup, lightweight frame, balanced weight distribution and turbocharged engine combine for a dynamic driving experience. Noise vibration and harshness (NVH) enhancements, including an acoustic front windscreen and insulation treatments, also help to deliver a refined, quiet ride.
For an open-air driving experience, the Fiat 124 Spider's soft convertible top is easy to operate and requires minimal force.

Packed with high-technology safety devices

The new roadster features active and passive safety systems, including adaptive headlights, rear video camera, and the stability control system, plus a body that gives high rigidity and low weight thanks to the extensive use of high-tensile materials.
What's more, the Fiat 124 Spider offers a range of high-technology devices that further improve the comfort and on-board well-being, such as the 7" touchscreen display with digital radio, Multimedia Control, Bluetooth connectivity, heated seats and Keyless Entry system.
To get incomparable audio quality even with the top down, there is the Bose premium Hi-Fi system with 9 speakers, four of which are incorporated into the headrests.

Design pays homage to the past, reinterpreting stylish finishes with a modern twist

Designed in the Turin Style Centre, the new Fiat 124 Spider retains several trims and features of the original 1966 car - unanimously considered to be one of the coolest looking Fiats of all time - and revisits them in a contemporary key. The Fiat 124 Spider has a slender, timeless silhouette, an attractive, classic and perfectly proportioned side panel, a low centre of gravity, a retracted passenger compartment and a long bonnet like a true sports car. References to the historic model are also made in the upper grille and in the pattern of the hexagonal front grille, in the classic "humps" along the front bonnet and the bold horizontal rear lights. The interiors are designed and made to ensure maximum comfort for all occupants, starting with the use of top-quality, soft materials. The ergonomic design of the car was painstakingly designed to enhance the driving experience, also through the perfect layout of pedals, steering wheel and transmission. The Fiat 124 Spider is available in two trim levels - 124 Spider and Lusso - each one available with eight different body colours: two pastel shades (Passione Red and Gelato White), five metallic shades (Vesuvio Black, Argento Grey, Moda Grey, Magnetico Bronze and Italia Blue) and the three-coat Ghiaccio White.
