The 500 Family is refreshed to become more modern and high-tech

  • After the launches in the final months of last year – the New 500, Tipo, Tipo Cross and Panda, the 500 family is also changing. Fiat begins 2021 with the entire line-up completely refreshed.
  • The new 500 family, consisting of the 500, 500X and 500L, has been completely refreshed with new trim levels, new colors and new interiors.
  • The line-up structure is also new, with the Cult, Connect, Dolcevita, Cross and Sport trim levels, all available on all models. Choosing the one best suited to your requirements is quick and easy.
  • Dedicated accessory packs for technology, safety, comfort and style.
  • Euro 6D-Final-compliant engines across the family.

To follow the New 500 and the refreshed Tipo and Panda line-ups, Fiat begins 2021 in the name of the 500 family, making its debut with a total refresh to its trim levels, colors and interiors. It also features a new line-up strategy that makes it even quicker and easier to choose a car, to respond to every customer’s specific mobility requirements.  The 500 Family consists of the 500, 500X and 500L, very different products in terms of their vocation, form and character, but which share the same basis: the iconic Fiat 500.

With over 3 million units sold since 2007, the 500 family has been met with resounding success, courtesy of both its continuous renewal and its special series, such as the Mirror in 2018 and the 120th in 2019. These special editions have been the source of inspiration for the refresh of the 2021 line-up. The 500 Mirror family has been developed for the customers who care the most about connectivity and for those looking for the latest trends in infotainment. Conversely, the 120 th special series – the most elegant and connected version ever – was created to celebrate Fiat’s 120th anniversary, by writing a new chapter on connectivity.

Five new trim levels with a distinct character

The new 500 family launches today in 5 trim levels, all available on all 3 models, each one with its own specific aesthetic features and content-packed equipment, to further boost the winning characteristics of each model.
We begin with the ‘Cult’ version, a tribute to the typically 500 pop world, for those seeking style and an icon with no compromises on price. The next step is the ‘Connect’ trim level, for customers looking for democratic, easy connectivity, to stay constantly and stylishly connected to your world.
The ‘Dolcevita’ trim level is exclusive to the 500, focuses on fans of a glamorous lifestyle and is inspired by the 1950s, as the perfect habitat of Fiat’s icon since 1957.
To complete the offer, the ‘Cross’ version, exclusive to the 500X and 500L, for those who want to escape from the urban jungle and routine, to enjoy out-of-town adventures with their family. These customers care about their lifestyle and look for content with a strong personality. The ‘Sport’ trim level is the top of the range and it is ideal for a dynamic and independent young target audience.

Cult: the pop, cool incarnation of the new 500 family

The new 500 family is therefore making its debut in the new trim levels, giving each model a specific, immediately recognizable character.
The Cult trim level epitomizes the typically 500 pop, cool theme, acting as an entry point to the world of the 500 and iconic style.
The color palette, always marked out by its distinct character and dynamism, is broadened by the new, exclusive ‘Sicilian Orange’ livery, paired in its interiors with new fabrics for its blue seats, embellished with the FIAT monogram stamped on the middle seat, and a dedicated dashboard in new ‘Techno’ Blue. Coherent aesthetic decisions among the 500, 500X and 500L.

Connect: the versions for tech-heads

The Connect trim level is directed at customers who want to stay connected at all times. It comes as standard with the 7” Uconnect infotainment system with DAB radio, Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, the easy and efficient way to exploit the services of your device in-car.
On all 3 models, new ‘Flashy’ seats are paired with the brand-new dashboard finish in Matt Silver.
The standard features of the 500 also include Cruise Control, a sports steering wheel with built-in controls, 15” alloy wheels and fog lights. It is available in the dedicated new Perbene Grey/Vesuvius Black two-tone livery.
The 500X comes with black seats, techno-leather steering wheel and 16” alloy wheels. It also features blacked-out windows, fog lights, LED DRLs, parking sensors, plus dusk and rain sensors.
Last but not least, the 500L Connect comes with 16” black wheel caps and body-color wing mirrors.

Dolcevita: an urban status symbol, unmistakably a 500

The 500 Dolcevita is reminiscent of Italy’s economic boom, between the late 1950s and early 1960s, when the historic 1957 500 was launched. Its glamorous style and fine aesthetic details are aimed at fans of design looking for an iconic car packed with technology. The interiors include new body-color dashboard surrounds and, on top of the Connect content, chrome-plated details, glass sunroof and 15” alloy wheels. On request, the livery can be two-tone, Gelato White and Lunar Grey, embellished with the Dolcevita badge.

Cross, everyday getaways in style

In its Cross trim level, the 500X has always married dynamism and its character as an Italian crossover, designed to get away from city traffic and to experience exciting out-of-town adventures.
The 500X debuts new seats with a camouflage-patterned center panel, vinyl inserts, plus 19” alloy wheels, roof rack and automatic air conditioning as standard.
The new 500L line-up is also now available in the captivating crossover look. Featuring a massive payload capacity, space that can be used smartly and great handling even in the city, the 500L meets everyday mobility requirements, without sacrificing its unmistakable style.
The Cross-version 500L comes as standard with 16” alloy wheels, fog lamps, rear parking sensors, dusk and rain sensors and automatic air conditioning: the ultimate in style and comfort. Also available in the 500L are camouflage-motif interiors or black leather seats, the latter on request.

Sport: a look that never goes unnoticed

The top of the range is the Sport trim level, marked out by its exclusive, unique and unmistakable look, designed to stand out from the crowd. The sporty details of the 500 Sport can’t go unnoticed: the very best in style and character, enhanced by the Cloud Grey, available on request, and the dedicated Sport badge.
As standard, 16" alloy wheels, side skirts, rear spoiler, specific bumpers, new sports seats in black fabric with red 500 logo, automatic air conditioning, new matt Titanium dashboard, 7" TFT and fog lights.
The 500L Sport's style has also been enhanced, with 17” alloy wheels, Autonomous City Brake, electrochrome rearview mirror, specific interiors in Black Technoprene, blacked-out windows and ambient lighting.
Conversely, the 500X comes with 18” alloy wheels in burnished black, or 19” wheel rims on request, and the specific matt Moda Grey livery.

The distinct character of the trim levels can be further enhanced to customize your car even more, with specific accessory packs that also provide a significant financial saving. These include:

- NAVI pack available on 500, the Magic Eye pack, available on 500X and 500L, which includes parking sensors and rear camera and ADAS pack, exclusive to the 500X, with Blind Spot Detection and Adaptive Cruise Control, for those who want all the latest technology and safety in their car;

The new 500 line-up is fitted with 70-hp Hybrid and 1.2 69-hp LPG engines, both Euro 6D-Final-compliant, orders for which open in mid-January 2021.
The range of engines in the 500X consists of two gasoline powertrains – 1.0-liter 120-hp and 1.3-liter 150-hp Firefly models – and two 1.3-liter 95-hp and 1.6 130-hp Multijet diesel engines.
The 500L is available with Euro 6D-Final-compliant 1.4-liter 95-hp gasoline engines and a 1.3 95-hp Multijet.

A success story

A symbol of “Made in Italy” – which has made its presence known around the world courtesy of its all-Italian style, constant innovation and premium quality, the Fiat 500 is the forerunner of this new family. An Italian icon that has seen 80% of its sales outside Italy, it leads the city car segment in Europe together with its sibling, the Panda.
The introduction of the Hybrid version – on both the 500 and the Panda – has given an extra boost to the sales of both models, registering the best performance ever: in 2020, based on data updated in November 2020, the European market share of both the 500 and the Panda was the highest ever recorded, at 17.5% and 18% respectively.
Alongside it comes the new 500X, refreshed to continue to play a leading role. Indeed, since its launch in 2014, it has always led its segment in Italy and regularly features in the European top 10.
Finally, room must be made for the comfortable 500L. Since 2012, this model has continued to be the cool car for modern families, by combining the 500’s iconic style with the versatility of Made by Fiat design. The 500L leads its segment in Italy for the 8th year running and has taken a podium placing in 9 other countries.
