Alberto Marghieri has been appointed Country Manager for Italy for Alfa Romeo, but will temporarily retain responsibility for Non-European sales.

Gagliardo was born in Palermo in 1964, and joined Fiat Auto in 2001, in the Marketing department of the Italian Market structure, later taking responsibility for the Italian market for the Alfa Romeo brand. He previously worked for Johnson & Johnson and for Ford.

Marghieri was born in Reggio Calabria in 1962, and joined Fiat Auto in September 2001, taking charge of the Export Department of the Alfa Romeo Business Unit. Marghieri previously worked in the marketing and sales departments of the Italian branches of various car markers, including BMW, Seat, Mitsubishi, Chrysler and Porsche.

The goal of the new organisation, which is part of the Alfa Romeo Sales area, is to develop and consolidate the brand's presence in Europe, which is one of the strategic priorities for Fiat Auto set out in the Fiat Group Relaunch Plan. Turin, May 21, 2004
