European Rally Two Fiat Grande Puntos leading the Ypres Rally

After the first three special trials in the Ypres Rally (Belgium), fourth event in the European Championship, two Fiat Grande Puntos are heading the rankings with Giandomenico Basso and Mitia Dotta ....

After the first three special trials in the Ypres Rally (Belgium), fourth event in the European Championship, two Fiat Grande Puntos are heading the rankings with Giandomenico Basso and Mitia Dotta ahead of the youngster Umberto Scandola, paired with expert Luigi Pirollo.

The two Grande Puntos are ahead of the Renault Clio driven by the Belgium Princen and the Mitsubishi Lancer driven by Cols.

Basso, who heads the Eurorally ranking, has won two special trials. Scandola, racing under the colours of Gass Racing with the backing of AciCsai as part of the “Youth Project” campaign, led initially after taking first place in the opening special trial.

The first stage will end in the late evening with another three special trials.

Tomorrow will see the second and final part of the race, with 12 trials against the clock.
