EUROPEAN AND WORLD RALLY CHAMPIONSHIPS SECOND PLACE AT THE ANTIBES AND SPANISH RALLIES FOR THE FIAT PUNTO ABARTHS OF BASSO AND BALDACCI

The Fiat Punto Abarth driven by Giandomenico Basso and Mitia Dotta concluded the second leg of the Antibes Rally run today, Saturday October 29, in third place after 6 special speed trials. The second Fiat Abarth team of Paolo Andreucci and Anna Andreussi took fourth place. The provisional standings of the last event in the European Rally Championship were led by French driver Robert, followed by Jean Joseph (Renault). Basso, a contender for the European title, set the best time in two speed trials.

The third and last leg, with the remaining six speed trials will be run tomorrow, Sunday October 30 (expected arrival at 4.10 pm).

The final event in the Junior World Championship is underway in Spain. At the end of the second leg, the official Fiat Abarth team of Baldacci-Bernacchini (winner of the recent Tour de Corse) is in third place, after having led the field for much of the race, before going off the road in the day’s final speed trial. Baldacci will be in the starting line-up for the third leg tomorrow (Sunday, October 30) with the Super Rally formula.
