FIAT CEO Olivier Francois has been presented with the Editors’ Award at the 2026 Autocar Awards.

Francois has been honoured in recognition of the personal impact he has had on the success of FIAT.

Judges praised his transformation of FIAT into a global business, back to growth in Europe, with its strongest product line-up in decades, including the new Grande Panda.

FIAT launches an ambitious design project that calls upon the next generation of young designers to conceptualize the compact car of tomorrow. A collaboration which unites FIAT and a group of talented students from two leading Italian design schools — IED Istituto Europeo di Design of Turin and ISIA Roma Design – aimed to interpret the future of urban mobility through the lens of the brand values: compactness, strong personality, and unmistakable DNA.

The project engages the students in a full design journey: starting from research, to moodboards, sketches, models, and ending with the final storytelling.
