Generali Country Italia, FCA Italy and FCA Bank strengthen and relaunch their mobility partnership
IoT digital services guarantee a new, customized and enriched experience to all customers with FCA Group connected cars.
MILAN, December 17th, 2020. One year since the agreement between Generali Country Italia, FCA Italy and FCA Bank, the new IoT digital services provided by Generali Jeniot are now being extended to all customers with an FCA group connected car, to strengthen their strategic and commercial partnership in Italy.
The digital services are created by Generali Jeniot, a wholly owned subsidiary of Generali Italia, which focuses on the development of innovative services, within Connected Insurance and the Internet of Things, related to urban mobility, the smart home, health and the connected world of work.
Generali Jeniot’s innovation therefore forms part of the ecosystem of solutions for FCA Group connected cars, focused on safety, on-board comfort and remote control of vehicle features. A wide range of services are now available, in the Mobility Services section of the Uconnect Live and Alfa Connect mobile apps for vehicles equipped with Mopar® Connect technology. For vehicles equipped with the new Uconnect™ Services and Alfa Connect Services as standard, the same services will be available via the My Uconnect, My Alfa Connect and FIAT apps. This ensures compatibility with the entire range of connected vehicles offered by FCA: the full-electric New Fiat 500 is compatible from the outset with Generali Jeniot’s products; Jeep and Alfa Romeo connected vehicles also receive over-the-air updates and are enabled, with a view to an offer that develops dynamically, including for the operational fleet.
Generali Jeniot products form part of the FCA Connected Services strategy, which both provides direct services to end customers and enables tailor-made offers through the ecosystem of selected and industry-leading partners.
The offer of connectivity services is also linked to the Connected TPL Policy, providing particularly advantageous conditions to customers with a connected car. These policies are offered when customers take out FCA Bank financing.
Description of services and offer structure
Generali Jeniot offers FCA customers a range of packages that include a series of digital services aimed at the world of connected cars, from the basic SmartSet package to the top-end PremiumSet.
SmartSet comes with:
Style, based on real-time coaching, an algorithm proprietary to Generali Jeniot. This feature is designed to help improve your driving style by following the simple tips provided in the new MyJeniot app, available from the Apple Store and Google Play Store. It complements the Ecoscore services in the Uconnect Services suite, for an eco-friendlier drive and safe, sustainable mobility.
TripReport records all trips made in the car and adds extra information on speed, road type and timing.
Status issues a certificate based on how the car is driven, an extra advantage when selling your vehicle becomes a consideration, to maintain its value.
Fence lets users set up geofenced areas in the MyJeniot app and can send alerts when entering or exiting them. This service is much appreciated during roadworks or for restricted traffic zones.
PremiumSet comes with all these services plus Help, to provide legal advice on the phone to check what items are useful to challenge a fine. This service is designed for situations such as cloned license plates, for a defense using impartial data.
Of course, these connected services can be combined with the Connected TPL policy, offered with FCA Bank's financial solutions, with its financial advantages over traditional policies, plus zero excess and most of all, a Crash Report if you have an accident, to protect the insured party if the dynamics of the case are unclear.
Francesco Bardelli, CEO of Generali Jeniot and Chief Business Transformation Officer at Generali Italia said: “Generali Italia’s ambition is to be a Life Partner for big moments in people's lives. TO do so, we need to understand trends and future needs, and work to design solutions to meet them. In such a context, it has become essential to establish strategic partnerships based on digital and data integration, with the aim of developing innovative services and products as part of the Internet of Things and Connected Insurance, as well as building new ecosystems. Our expertise and know-how enable us to enhance and customize the mobility experience of FCA’s connected customers. At Generali Country Italia, where the Group's pan-European mobility platform began, we are redesigning insurance by constructing connected ecosystems.”
“Our partnership with Generali Jeniot represents another step in the FCA strategy aimed at providing its customers with more of a complete connected car experience. It also vindicates the Group's considerable investment in this sector, which represents the already tangible future of mobility,” said Francesco Abbruzzesi, Head of MOPAR, EMEA. “The arrival of Generali Jeniot and its IoT solutions forms part of a robust roadmap in which all our new vehicles are already connected, offering Uconnect Services and Alfa Connect Services as standard, or in after-market with the continuous development of Mopar Connect solutions. Further developments in connected applications and services, both proprietary and created in conjunction with partners, will become available in the coming months, to further demonstrate FCA’s commitment in this strategic sector for the entire Group.”
Giacomo Carelli, CEO of FCA Bank, added: "FCA Bank's financial services, enriched by affordable and innovative insurance services offered by Genertel, offer unique and distinctive solutions for customers' new mobility needs. In particular, the CONNECTED TPL policy offers customers the option of paying their premiums with a small increase in their monthly installments, and zero excess if an accident occurs: two concrete elements to add real financial value for new buyers of FCA’s connected vehicles”.
