For the third consecutive year, the EXCEL exhibition centre in the Newham area of London will host the grand finale of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, from July 26-27. It’s a unique circuit that partly runs indoors and should once more set the scene for plenty of action and surprises.
After 14 races run throughout the last seven months, DS Automobiles and its partner PENSKE AUTOSPORT, arrive in the British capital holding third in the teams’ championship. But the team’s closest rival is only just behind, which means that DS PENSKE will absolutely have to deliver two solid races to end up on the Season 11 championship podium.
To achieve this ambitious objective, the team can rely on the performance of the
DS E-TENSE FE25 developed by the competition department of DS Automobiles – as well as on the talents of its two drivers.
Maximilian Günther, who sealed two fantastic wins in Jeddah and Shanghai, is currently ninth in the drivers’ standings and aiming to end the season in the best way possible. His team mate Jean-Eric Vergne, the only two-time champion in Formula E history, is sixth in the rankings and will be giving it everything to seal some more podiums and fly the flag for the French marque, where he is also a brand ambassador.
The two races that make up the London E-Prix will get underway on Saturday and Sunday at 18:00 CET (17:00 local time).
Eugenio Franzetti, DS Performance director:
“We’re finally getting ready to finish off a season that has been particularly intense! Formula E is an extremely demanding discipline, and we’re very happy to arrive on British soil with third place in the teams’ championship. Now we’re going to have to fight for every second to defend our place on the provisional podium and finish the season on a high. I’ve got total confidence in our team and in the performance of our DS E-TENSE FE25 to achieve this objective!”
Key figures since DS Automobiles entered Formula E:
- 135 races
- 4 championship titles
- 18 victories
- 55 podiums
- 26 pole positions
