With Season 10 having drawn to a close only a few days ago, DS PENSKE and Stoffel Vandoorne have announced the conclusion of their partnership in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.
Vandoorne, Formula E World Champion in Season 8, joined the DS PENSKE team in October 2022 to line up alongside Jean-Eric Vergne.
The Belgian driver piloted the DS E-TENSE FE23 developed by DS Performance throughout seasons 9 and 10, claiming an excellent pole position in Sao Paulo in March 2023 and a stunning Monaco podium in May of this year. In total, Vandoorne racked up a score of 117 points for the DS PENSKE team throughout his tenure. His role has been particularly important during Season 10, where DS PENSKE recently secured third place in the championship after a hotly-fought year of competition.
Eugenio Franzetti, DS Performance Director:
“It has been a real pleasure to work with Stoffel, who is an extremely professional and talented driver. Together with JEV, he delivered a key contribution to the creation of a very solid team and helped to score the points that gave us an excellent third place in the championship last weekend. We now go our separate ways, but I’m sure that the 2022 world champion is set for some exciting new adventures in the future!”
Key figures since DS Automobiles entered Formula E:
- 121 races
- 4 championship titles
- 16 victories
