DS N°8 IS ENHANCED WITH PLUG & CHARGE FUNCTIONALITY AND A 22 KW THREE-PHASE ON-BOARD CHARGER

• DS N°8, DS Automobiles’ flagship with a range of up to 750 km on the WLTP cycle, has been enhanced with the Plug & Charge feature, which enables charging to start automatically without the need to identify yourself manually after plugging into a rapid-charging point.
• DS N°8 can now also be fitted with an optional 22 kW three-phase on-board charger, significantly reducing AC charging time.
• With these two new features, DS N°8 further enhances the electric vehicle experience, allowing you to take full advantage of its exceptional driving qualities.

Plug & Charge: travel made easy!

With Plug & Charge functionality included in the Free2Move Charge ecosystem, DS N°8 has been providing as standard a simpler, more seamless and safer charging experience at rapid-charging points since models produced from the beginning of April. A first use within the Stellantis Group.

With Plug & Charge, all you now have to do is connect DS N°8 to a rapid-charging point compatible with the Free2Move Charge network and have the Free2Move Charge app: charging starts automatically without doing anything; without a badge, a card or limitations. You no longer need to identify yourself manually, everything is managed automatically via the car, which includes a digital certificate allowing the terminal to identify the user's account, begin charging and manage invoicing. This greatly simplifies the seamless charging experience.

Free2Move Charge provides access to more than 1,000,000 charging points in Europe, including more than 50,000 Plug & Charge-enabled rapid-charging points, as well as allowing you to locate points, know their power and manage your sessions directly from the Free2Move Charge app available in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal and Austria.

22 kW on-board chargers: faster charging

All DS N°8 versions already come with an 11 kW on-board charger as standard. Since the beginning of April, DS N°8 has been able to have an optional 22 kW three-phase on-board charger, reducing charging time even further. Widely used throughout Europe, 22 kW charging points improve charging time while making using an electric vehicle even more seamless. They are usually found in city centres, shopping centre or public car parks. They make it easy to return to 80% battery charge, without necessarily having to resort to superchargers, which are less present outside the motorway network and often have a higher price per kWh.

In addition to a range of up to 750 km on the WLTP cycle (500 km on the motorway), DS N°8 has especially high-performance charging, making the electric travel experience more seamless and serene. Equipped with the 22 kW three-phase charger, DS N°8 FWD (73.7 kWh battery) can go from 20 to 80% battery capacity in just 2 hours 35 minutes, compared to 4 hours and 55 minutes at an 11 kW charging point. For the FWD LONG RANGE version (97.2 kWh battery), the same exercise requires 3 hours and 20 minutes at 22 kW, compared to 6 hours and 10 minutes at 11 kW.

The 22 kW on-board charger is available as an option on the FWD, FWD LONG RANGE, AWD LONG RANGE versions and on PALLAS and ETOILE specifications, at a price of 900 €.
