A genuine distillation of DS Automobiles’ savoir-faire, DS N°4 embodies the avant-garde in design and refinement. It also has the widest electrified range in the premium compact hatchback segment, and elegantly combines benchmark comfort, driving precision and high-level connectivity. It is now starting its first official test drives on the roads of Portugal, while DS Stores will soon be able to deliver it to the first customers around the world.

With a new, more horizontal black grille, highlighted by a light signature clearly inspired by the DS E-TENSE PERFORMANCE concept car, the new DS Automobiles design asserts its identity more than ever. The beam of light that stretches from the ends of the bumper to come together on the illuminated DS logo in the centre gives DS N°4 a unique poise and a radical look.

This new front is standard on all specifications, while the ÉTOILE version also features DS MATRIX LED VISION headlamps. These combine matrix technology and directional functionality to provide the best possible lighting quality while enhancing DS N°4’s neat and distinctive aesthetics.

ELEGANT AND ATHLETIC SILHOUETTE

 

At 4.40 m long, 1.87 m wide and 1.49 m high, DS N°4 has balanced proportions that combine dynamism and elegance. Its muscular lines fit into a flowing silhouette, giving it a striking presence.

Fitted with 19 and 20-inch large-diameter (720 mm) wheels, DS N°4 asserts its bold and refined character. Its slender stance is accentuated by a roof in a contrasting black colour while a chrome strip elegantly underlines the glass area’s design by precisely following the curvature of the bodywork.

At the rear, the new light signature is accompanied by LED taillights and a “Dark Chrome” mask enhanced by laser-engraved embossed scales. The new Brand identity, with the DS Automobiles lettering on the tailgate, further emphasises its standing.

 

FIRST-CLASS COMFORT AND A DISTINCTIVE COCKPIT

 

The quality of the upholstery contributes to the legendary comfort of DS Automobiles designs, enhanced by refined details that are Brand signatures.

 

All of DS Automobiles’ artisanal expertise is present inside DS N°4, through special details such as the Clous de Paris embossed inserts, the Criollo Brown Nappa leather seats with watchstrap upholstery, the Brown Ash wood inserts and even the pearl stitching – exclusive stitching, a signature of the Brand and unique in the automotive world. Depending on specification, the interior atmosphere varies between classic elegance and contemporary sophistication: the PALLAS trim favours DS fabrics and canvases, while the ÉTOILE specification focuses on Alcantara®, and the ÉTOILE Nappa trim on Nappa leather, both generously used on the dashboard, door panels and centre console.

Either way, the entirety creates an exclusive and hushed atmosphere that makes for an unforgettable time in-car.

 

DS Automobiles does not sacrifice anything in terms of practicality or carrying capacity. DS N°4’s boot space is a remarkable 430 litres for the HYBRID version, 360 litres for DS N°4 PLUG-IN HYBRID and 390 litres for the new 100% electric DS N°4 E-TENSE version. DS N°4’s boot is accessible via a tailgate which can be electric with hands-free access.

 

With its 2.67 m wheelbase and 1.87 m width with the mirrors folded in, DS N°4 stands out with its spaciousness and many clever storage compartments. Each occupant enjoys the ultimate comfort, with plenty of elbow and leg room, as well as generous headroom in both rows.

 

DYNAMIC SERENITY

 

The sharp lines translate into a promise of dynamism at the wheel. Thanks to precise fine-tuning, particularly on the suspension, chassis and drivetrain, DS N°4 offers a driving experience with a subtle balance between comfort and agility.

 

The 100% electric E-TENSE version fits this philosophy perfectly. In the city, on the road or at a brisk pace, it retains the natural agility and precise handling, faithful to DS Automobiles’ requirements, for the benefit of a unique Art of Travel experience.

 

MULTI-ENERGY TECHNOLOGY

 

The only premium multi-energy compact hatchback to offer a complete range of electrified drivetrains, DS N°4 is available with three technologies for all uses: self-charging hybrid, plug-in hybrid and E-TENSE, a new 100% electric version.

 

DS N°4 E-TENSE: 450 km of range (WLTP combined cycle)

 

DS N°4 E-TENSE, whose ground clearance has been lowered by 10 mm, combines range and high performance. It gets a battery with a net capacity of 58.3 kWh linked to a 213 hp electric motor for 343 Nm of torque.

 

With carefully controlled electricity consumption, between 15.0 and 15.1 kWh/100 km depending on the version, DS N°4 E-TENSE has a WLTP range of up to 450 km.

 

In addition to mechanical braking with the pedal, DS N°4 offers three distinct modes of regenerative braking: low regeneration (-0.6 m/s2), moderate regeneration (-1.3 m/s2) and high regeneration (-2.0 m/s2). Regenerative braking starts as soon as the driver releases the accelerator pedal, and its power can be adjusted by paddles on the steering wheel. DS N°4’s memory retains the last mode used.

 

Designed to adapt to everyday needs, DS N°4 E-TENSE is equipped with an 11 kW three-phase on-board charger and can take charging power of up to 120 kW in direct current.

At a rapid charging point, it can go from 20 to 80% charge in about 30 minutes and even recover a range of 100 km WLTP in just 11 minutes.

 

DS N°4 E-TENSE offers a complete ecosystem of features designed to simplify everyday life. The in-car EV Routing, battery preconditioning, e-Routes app and remote e-control functions contribute to an intuitive and serene experience.

This high-tech environment also includes the V2L (Vehicle to Load) function, allowing external devices to be powered via an adapter, for even more versatility in using the car.

 

 

DS N°4 PLUG-IN HYBRID: up to 81 km in 100 % electric

 

DS N°4 PLUG-IN HYBRID increases its range by 30% in all-electric mode thanks to a new battery with a net capacity of 14.6 kWh. It can also travel up to 81 km (combined WLTP range) in 100% electric mode before switching to hybrid operation that combines efficiency and dynamism.

 

Its powertrain unites a 180 hp 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine and a 125 hp electric motor, which is integrated into a new automatic gearbox with a double clutch and 7 speeds. With a combined output of 225 hp and 360 Nm of torque, DS N°4 PLUG-IN HYBRID accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in only 7.4 seconds, 0.3 seconds faster than the previous generation. Delivered with a 3.7 kW in-car charger, it offers an optional 7.4 kW version, for faster charging at a suitable charging point.

 

DS N°4 HYBRID: 145 hp and self-charging

 

DS N°4 HYBRID combines a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with a 21 kW (28 hp) electric motor, integrated directly into the six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

 

With this optimised hybrid architecture, DS N°4 HYBRID can drive, in urban use, up to 50% of total time in all-electric mode, depending on the traffic conditions and the driving style adopted. Self-charging, it recovers energy from deceleration and braking phases to fuel its battery.

 

With a combined output of 145 hp and 230 Nm of torque, this powertrain delivers first-class performance while displaying low CO₂ emissions (from 117 g/km), putting DS N°4 HYBRID among the benchmarks in terms of efficiency.

 

EXTENDED CONNECTIVITY

 

The CONNECT ONE PACK, included for 10 years, offers remote e-controls, allowing you to monitor the battery’s state of charge, program the cockpit’s thermal preconditioning and manage charging remotely. This pack also includes the digital service book, DS e-Coaching and remote updates, for a more serene and personalised drive.

 

The CONNECT PLUS PACK (included for 3 years depending on the equipment) enhances the experience with connected navigation, voice recognition, remote control functions such as remote locking/unlocking, connected alarm (depending on the equipment) etc…, accessible via the MyDS app.

 

DS N°4 E-TENSE includes a suite of connected services for optimised and trouble-free journey management over a period of 3* to 10** years:

• EV Routing embedded*: intelligent charging-stop planning (depending on equipment), with the possibility of setting the battery charge level for arrival.
• The e-Routes* app: calculation of travel time including traffic and stops, accessible via My DS.
• Battery Preconditioning**: Optimised charging in cold weather, either automatically via on-board EV Routing or manually by driver activation, thus ensuring optimal energy performance,
• e-Remote controls**: charging control, cabin preheating, 80% AC charging stop.

 

During 2026, DS N°4 E-TENSE will be enhanced with a new PLUG & CHARGE service meaning all owners have to do is plug in the charging cable. Recognition of the car, subscription or prepaid package will all be taken into account and grouped together on a single bill.

In March 2024, DS Automobiles became the first manufacturer in the world to integrate ChatGPT as standard on all its models equipped with DS IRIS SYSTEM, in countries where voice recognition is already available.

A few months after its launch, DS N°4 will offer an even more interactive infotainment experience by allowing people to ask questions about the latest news — whether it’s culture, sport, or international events — and get instant, effective and reliable answers.

All you have to do is say “OK IRIS” to start a seamless and natural conversation with the car, which thereby turns into a genuine travel companion.

 

 

 

DS SERENITY: DS AUTOMOBILES PREMIUM WARRANTY

 

From 1 June 2025, every DS Automobiles customer ordering a new DS has been covered by DS SERENITY, a premium warranty valid over the entire range for up to 8 years or 160,000 km, including the infotainment system. This cover includes the loan of a DS courtesy vehicle so that the Art of Travel never stops, 24/7 assistance in 47 countries, and premium assistance specific to electric vehicles (also up to 8 years).

RANGE STRUCTURE

DS N°4 is available in two main trim levels: PALLAS, featuring DS fabric-canvas upholstery and ÉTOILE, equipped with additional equipment and an Alcantara® interior with optional Nappa leather watchstrap upholstery. A PALLAS-derived PALLAS BUSINESS LINE is also available for companies and incorporates DS IRIS SYSTEM, keyless entry and start, a wireless charger, acoustic laminated front and rear side windows as well as 19” Minneapolis alloy wheels.

DS N°4 is also available in an exclusive JULES VERNE Collection finish, based on the PALLAS specification enhanced with additional equipment and exclusive personalisation features such as a Blue and Pearl Alcantara® interior.

 

Each specification is available with all powertrains (E-TENSE, PLUG-IN HYBRID and HYBRID).

 

The PALLAS trim provides a refined interior with high-density fabric (Diamond Tungsten) and DS Canvas (black) seats, adorned with elegant stitching that emphasises the care paid to detail. The dashboard and door panels feature basalt black trim with a scale effect, as well as Belem Bronze inserts, giving a sophisticated look overall.

The rich level of standard equipment includes a new 10.25-inch high-definition digital instrument cluster with new N°8-inspired graphics, dual-zone automatic climate control, LED headlamps and Full LED rear lights, powered de-misting and folding exterior mirrors, a safety pack with cruise control and adaptive speed limiter and automatic emergency braking controlled by camera and radar, front and rear parking sensors with reversing camera, acoustic laminated front side windows, as well as wireless Mirror Screen via Wi-Fi.
