DS AUTOMOBILES SURPASSES 2000 POINTS IN FORMULA E WITH A TOP-FIVE FINISH FOR TAYLOR BARNARD IN LONDON

• DS Automobiles contested the 16th round of Season 12 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship this Saturday in London
• Taylor Barnard secured fifth place after a strong charge through the field, while Maximilian Günther finished 12th
• Thanks to this result, DS Automobiles has now scored more than 2000 points since the beginning of its involvement in Formula E

The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship held its 16th and penultimate round of the season this Saturday at London’s ExCeL exhibition centre. Taylor Barnard delivered a strong performance over the British capital’s unusual circuit thanks to a strategically well-managed race, with particularly effective deployment of his PIT BOOST and “Attack Mode”.

Barnard felt very comfortable during free practice so headed into the race aiming to score valuable points from 12th on the grid – and the Briton well and truly delivered at the wheel of his DS E-TENSE FE25. Making an intelligent and opportunistic start to the race throughout a Full Course Yellow procedure, the French brand’s young driver soon found the right pace and climbed to sixth place.

A penalty for a rival ultimately allowed Barnard to gain one further place after the finish and seal fifth. By scoring 10 more points in the drivers’ standings, Taylor Barnard also enabled DS Automobiles to pass the 2000-point benchmark after 11 intense years of electric competition, with a precise total of 2005 points to date.

His team mate Maximilian Günther endured a more difficult race in London. Forced to start from 19th position after a tough qualifying, the German nonetheless produced a strong recovery drive to cross the finish in 12th place.

The second race of London’s double-header will take place on Sunday 16 August at 16:00 CET (15:00 local time).

Taylor Barnard:

“Scoring my first points at home is a pretty nice feeling, especially as we produced one of our best races since the start of the season. We had a little luck with the Full Course Yellow procedure, as we were able to carry out our PIT BOOST at the right moment. A big thank you to the team for all the work they have done. Tomorrow, we will focus on the objective of improving our qualifying performance and confirming Saturday’s good result.”

Maximilian Günther:

“Starting from the back row of the grid but finishing 12th was a strong recovery. However, there was still the potential to do better today. We were delayed by the Full Course Yellow procedure during the pit-stop window, as the team could obviously only deal with one car at that moment. as well as possible Now we need to prepare for tomorrow’s race as well as possible. We hope to be strong in qualifying and then finish the season on a high note.”
