DS 3 DARK SIDE: RADICAL DESIGN FOR SENSORY FASCINATION
The DS avant-garde spirit shines through as strong as ever in DS 3 Dark Side, a special edition making a very strong statement on uncluttered, sober, radical aesthetics. The latest from DS, an exceptional car in many respects, will hold irresistible appeal to all who appreciate advanced technology, futuristic styling and distinction. DS 3 Dark Side designers used two innovative 3D technologies: 3D skin technology was used to produce a textured shark grey body finish with geometric patterns in relief. And 3D printing was used for making special titanium parts for the car interior. With this most remarkable new version, DS 3 sets important new trends at the forefront of automotive design, offering discerning motorists the ultimate expression of personal choice.
From afar, DS 3 Dark Side looks sculpted from a rough, dark, mineral material. Then as you get closer you’re intrigued by the subtle geometric patterns engraved in the skin of the car. The effect is so unreal you have to reach out and touch the body to see what it feels like. It’s a truly unique impression.
The headlamps and rear lights are hypnotically complex in design and stand out starkly from the almost organic body. DS 3 Dark Side comes in two versions expressing two rather different attitudes: light, with aluminium grey roof, diamond-cut 17” wheels and chrome mirror shells, or uncompromising dark, with roof and mirror shells in Onyx Black and black 17” wheels. The interior echoes the radical exterior ambience, dark and sober. Quality materials feature throughout, the design is sleek and uncluttered, and the equipment excellent.
The muted interior atmosphere is offset by the metallic shimmer of the titanium door lining features, producing a unique sense of surprise. These features are real works of art, specially designed by DS stylists for DS 3 Dark Side. The finesse, subtlety, complexity and structural depth are utterly fascinating. And the same signature lattice structure is found in the ignition key, a constant and subtle reminder of the unique experience of owing such an exceptional vehicle.
