Dodge Challenger Black Ghost, a muscle car from the streets of Detroit to Europe
The Brand's “Last Call” tribute in Europe, inaugurated in March by the Dodge Challenger Shakedown, goes on: a Project in true Dodge style which gives enthusiasts the last opportunity to benefit from the HEMI motorization on Chargers and Challengers.
- The Brand's “Last Call” tribute in Europe, inaugurated in March by the Dodge Challenger Shakedown, goes on: a Project in true Dodge style which gives enthusiasts the last opportunity to benefit from the HEMI motorization on Chargers and Challengers.
- The Brand is planning the continental launch of the Challenger Black Ghost, inspired by the historic 1970 edition and featuring an exclusive black-and-chrome appearance: it's the second edition of the "Last Call" series landing in Europe.
- The vehicles in the special series are produced and marketed as limited editions-a unique opportunity for enthusiasts of the Brand to secure an exclusive model and to be part of the Last Call iconic generation journey.
Dodge's “Last Call” tribute to the Charger and Challenger HEMI models, which as of 2024 will no longer be produced in their current version in line with the brand's electrification path, is also continuing in Europe. To celebrate these historic lines, in their last months of existence, the American brand has decided to launch a revised version of seven iconic models in order to give enthusiasts a unique opportunity to purchase an absolutely exclusive product. Five of them will also be marketed in Europe. The second model in the limited-edition series to land in Europe is the Dodge Challenger Black Ghost: it follows the footsteps of the Dodge Challenger Shakedown, which was launched on the European market in March 2023.
“There are so many legendary muscle cars in Dodge brand history, it was hard to choose the seven vehicles we wanted to pay homage to with our Last Call lineup, but the Black Ghost was an easy pick,” said Tim Kuniskis, Dodge Brand Chief Executive Officer.
Dodge Challenger Black Ghost also lands in Europe
The second model introduced in Europe is the Dodge Challenger Black Ghost, which is inspired by the iconic black 1970 Dodge Challenger RT SE (special edition) owned by Godfrey Qualls. A muscle car that earned a legendary reputation over time, related to underground racing on the streets of Detroit. The Dodge Challenger Black Ghost 2023 was part of the first six Last Call edition models introduced in August 2022 during the Dodge Speed Week event at the M1 Concourse in Pontiac, Michigan. The 2023 Dodge Challenger Black Ghost special edition provides a modern revival of the historic vehicle, wrapping a black-and-chrome appearance, including unique black "gator skin" roof vinyl graphics similar to the original, around a Challenger SRT® Hellcat Redeye Widebody bumped up to 807 horsepower. The model is in keeping with the ineffable yet gritty soul of the original Dodge Black Ghost, thanks to elements such as the 20-by-11-inch Satin Carbon Warp Speed wheels, the Black Ghost interior instrument panel badge, the black Mopar® hood pins and the black six-piston Brembo brake system. It also features Challenger script grille, fender and spoiler badges and Midnight Metallic SRT grille badge. In addition, the model is embellished with details such as the bright Dodge fascia badge, the Alcantara steering wheel with red SRT logo, the real carbon fiber bezels and Dynamica suede headliner, and the Alcantara/Laguna leather seats and door bolsters. The vehicle will allow enthusiasts to truly taste Dodge exclusivity: in fact, only 300 models will be produced, all Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody in Pitch Black exterior color.
The Dodge "Last Call" Special Series - The Last Race of HEMI Dodge Chargers and Challengers
The exclusive Last Call edition consists in a revival of seven iconic models from the Brand's history: the Dodge Challenger Shakedown, Charger Super Bee, Challenger and Charger Scat Pack Swinger, Charger King Daytona, Challenger Black Ghost and Challenger SRT Demon 170. All 2023 model year vehicles take inspiration from the Brand's iconic muscle cars, evoking their most significant details, and are characterized by a special commemorative "Last Call" underhood plaque which makes each model a true collector's item and includes the vehicle's name and silhouette, as well as “Designed in Auburn Hills” and “Assembled in Brampton” to certify each vehicle’s origin. The two ranges include 14 exterior color options each, including three of the Brand’s signature heritage colors—B5 Blue, Plum Crazy purple and Sublime green – as well as the popular and modern Destroyer Grey. The vehicles have also been embellished by distinctive graphic details on the body.
To celebrate this special edition in true Dodge style, the Brand has also extended the Jailbreak package to the 717-horsepower Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcat as well, in order to offer enthusiasts truly unlimited customization possibilities in building their own muscle car, with unique personalization of every single detail.
Dodge Europe has taken a strong connection with its Official International Commercial Partners to getting the Charger and Challenger in the hands of its enthusiasts, through their Official Retail Network with all Service & Warrantee Packages.
Dodge, high performance and best-in-class power
For more than 100 years, the Dodge Brand has carried on the spirit of brothers John and Horace Dodge. Their influence continues today as Dodge shifts into high gear with a lineup that delivers unrivaled performance in each of the segments where they compete.
Dodge drives forward as a pure performance Brand, offering SRT Hellcat versions of the Dodge Challenger, Dodge Charger and Dodge Durango, as well as an R/T performance hybrid version of the all-new Dodge Hornet, representing the Brand’s first-ever electrified performance vehicle. Dodge delivers the drag-strip dominating 807-horsepower Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock; the 797-horsepower Dodge Charger SRT Redeye, the most powerful and fastest mass-produced sedan in the world; and the 710-horsepower Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat, the most powerful SUV ever; and best-in-class standard performance in the compact utility vehicle segment with the Dodge Hornet. Combined, these four muscle vehicles make Dodge the industry’s most powerful Brand, offering more horsepower than any other American Brand across its entire lineup.
In 2022, the Dodge Brand ranked No. 1 in the J.D. Power APEAL Study (mass market), making it the only domestic Brand ever to do so three years in a row. In addition, the Dodge Challenger confirmed its leadership in the muscle car segment by again outperforming all competitors for the second consecutive year.
