Aisin Europe and Stellantis create strategic partnership for automatic gearbox repair

In a market where the share of vehicles with automatic gearboxes is constantly increasing, Aisin Europe Aftermarket and Stellantis announced a strategic partnership that focuses on the repair of automatic gearboxes that meets the repair needs of customers in a sustainable manner. The process allows customers to repair and keep their existing gearbox, saving up to 80% of energy and materials versus a standard replacement.
To facilitate access to this service, the two partners created a platform that allows repairers to contact Aisin directly in order to establish a diagnosis and put a handling procedure in place. The process is designed to optimize repair time and allow repair professionals to remain competitive.
This service currently applies to four (6-speed) automatic gearbox models, AT6 and AM6 , which equip Stellantis vehicles such as the Peugeot 208, 508 II, 308 II, 408 II, 2008, 3008 II, 5008 II, the Citroën C3 III, C4 II, C4 Picasso II, DS4 and the DS3. This service, which is being rolled out in the French and Belgian markets for this initial launch phase, will subsequently be extended to other markets and to the Aisin Group’s entire automatic gearbox catalogue.
