PARIS MOTOR SHOW 2016: SPOTLIGHT ON CONNECTIVITY AND EXPERIENCE SHARING AT THE CITROËN STAND

Citroën held its fourth Customer Experience Campus at its Paris Motor Show stand this morning, under the title “New brand opportunities in today’s age of popular realtime experience sharing”. In an open debate with Facebook’s head of French and southern European operations, Laurent Solly, Citroën’s marketing and communications chief Arnaud Belloni outlined the company’s digital strategy, emphasizing its recent innovative developments in the field, such as the Immersive Canvas for Citroën E-MEHARI, a mini-site integrated in the Facebook application, and the New C3 Facebook account, where the car posts its own photos and videos taken from its ConnectedCAM system.

The event was also an opportunity for Citroën to talk about its extensive developments in connected services and experience-sharing, with a wealth of innovative new solutions:

  • Citroën ConnectedCAM, available on New C3
Citroën ConnectedCAM uses an HD connected camera located at the top of the windscreen on New C3, behind the rear-view mirror, to offer unprecedented on-the-road experience-sharing capabilities. This world-first technology is a perfect fit with today’s leisure practices, enabling motorists to take photos and videos of what they see from behind the wheel on their journeys: spectacular scenery, sunsets, whatever. The system, which includes a GPS and a 16-Gb memory, provides a true-to-life record of the motoring experience. Photos and video footage are directly accessible by smartphone using the free ConnectedCAM Citroën app, for subsequent retrieval and sharing on the social networks, for example.
  • Share with U App on CXPERIENCE Concept
Share with U, a new-generation free app developed by Citroën, is making its first appearance on CXPERIENCE Concept, prior to release in 17 European countries in early 2017. It offers a uniquely collective journey experience for the enjoyment of all vehicle occupants, featuring a hub that offers access, via the vehicle’s onboard Wifi hotspot, to media content (photos, music, videos, etc.) on the smartphones of all the vehicle occupants who hook up to the system. The shared content can be shown on the car screen via the mirroring application, compatible with both CarPlay and Android Auto. This new app squares perfectly with increasingly popular car-sharing trends.
  • Citroën Advisor, the online customer opinions site
Since Citroën launched its online interactive customer opinions site - Citroën Advisor - two years ago, customers from more than 20 countries have posted some 80,000 evaluations. The system was originally intended for customer evaluation of dealership service quality (sales and aftersales), then expanded in scope to enable Citroën customers to evaluate their cars. Ratings and comments are visible to all at the virtual showroom on Citroën.fr. This, the first website of its kind from an automaker in France, illustrates Citroën’s exemplary emphasis on open-ended interaction with its customers.

With this unprecedented offering of connected systems, Citroën champions a fresh, more collective approach to customer experience, to take a front-line position on the mainstream motor market and fulfil its ‘Be Different, Feel Good’ promise.
