CITROËN AT THE PARIS MOTOR SHOW: ENHANCED ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCE

With CO2 emissions per vehicle in Europe in first-half 2012 averaging 123.9 g/km, CITROËN continues to demonstrate its expertise in environmental technology, ranking among the leaders in the market. The Brand, a trendsetter with the particulate filter and Stop&Start system, constantly seeks to reduce the energy footprint of its models. The latest family of petrol engines, PureTech, is already available on the CITROËN C3 and DS3. The new powerplant reduces fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions by nearly 30% on the previous generation of engines, on some vehicles taking CO2 emissions under the 100 g/km mark. A PureTech-powered CITROËN C3 and a model of the PureTech VTi 82 engine are on display at this year’s Motor Show.e-HDi micro-hybrid technology, featuring a user-friendly Stop&Start system and available on most of the models in the range, reduces CO2 emissions by around 5 g/km. A number of cars on the stand are fitted with this technology, starting with the C3 e-HDi 70 emitting 87 g/km of CO2.Hybrid4 technology, available on the CITROËN DS5, combines the qualities of an HDi engine with those of an electric motor. The DS5 Hybrid4 is a remarkable performer, with CO2 emissions of 91 g/km, and has proved a huge success, accounting for 22.5% of total DS5 sales in Europe. The car is starring on the CITROËN stand in the company of the other DS line models.Full-electric technology is available on the CITROËN C-ZERO city car. CITROËN is displaying the C-ZERO model that recently pulled off a round-the-world tour as part of the "Electric Odyssey“. The Brand will be launching another electric vehicle in first-half 2013 in the shape of the Berlingo Electric compact van.
