The display at Retromobile 2020 of the replica of the Golden Scarab launches an audacious project, just like those André Citroën had a taste for. In 2022, one hundred years after the first Saharan cruise by automobile, Citroën will be repeating the achievement with Ë.PIC, the electric cruise of the Sahara.

On the occasion of the Retromobile 2020 Show which is taking place from 5 to 9 February in Paris, Citroën is marking the 50th birthday of GS and celebrating the audacity of the first ever automobile crossing of the Sahara. For the birthday of GS, which was launched in 1970, the Brand is unveiling Citroën GS by Tristan Auer for Les Bains, a car entrusted to the interior designer to transform it. In addition, the spirit of adventure is in the air with the display of the replica of the Golden Scarab, the first ever vehicle to have crossed the Sahara in 1922. To echo this incredible exploit, a very special announcement will be made during the press conference on 4 February at 21:00 on the Citroën stand.

As the poster for the show suggests, Citroën is investing in a big way in the 2019 edition of Rétromobile (from 6 to 10 February, Paris Expo Porte de Versailles). For the year of its Centenary, the Brand has in fact come up with a brand new package, with a stand accommodating 30 iconic models from its 100 years, divided between 3 hubs: 10 production models, 10 racing vehicles and 10 concept cars! During the 2018 Rétromobile Classic Car Show, which will take place in Paris February 7 to 11, Citroën will be celebrating two iconic models: The 2CV, which debuted in 1948 and is turning 70, and the Méhari, launched in 1968 and turning 50 this year. The Brand is making the most of this rare opportunity by showing off the 2CV's ancestor, a prototype that came out of 1939's TPV (Toute Petite Voiture, or Very Small Car) project. These two anniversaries are also being marked with some original works of art: two large flat 'kits' of spare parts, just like those children use to make models. The only difference is the scale, since these are real 2CV and Méhari parts! The Brand is also beginning its preparations for another important anniversary: its own 100th birthday, which it will celebrate in 2019!

CITROËN will be at the Retromobile show (Paris, 3 to 7 February 2016) with its Méhari, from May 1968. Doubtless the most impertinent of all CITROËNs, Méhari revolutionized the cabriolet world with its plastic body, pop colours and unashamedly chummy attitude. Some 48 years later, CITROËN is reviving this unique spirit with E-MEHARI, an all-electric successor to its illustrious forebear, making its début appearance before the general public. Visitors to the show are in for a real ‘back to the future’ experience!

For the 2015 Rétromobile show, CITROËN is turning the spotlight on well-being. Well-being is a constant strength in all CITROËN cars regardless of the era and a dominant component in the brand’s DNA. Throughout the Rétromobile show, visitors will be able to see how that DNA has been expressed over time, bringing to the customers a modern and appropriate solution to their expectations. A number of emblematic, standard-setting CITROËN vehicles will be on show this year, including the C6 Torpedo, Traction Avant, 2CV, Méhari, GS and CX. The brand will also be displaying the "Baby Brousse“, a modelsold in Africa and very rarely seen in France. The show will conclude with the C4 Cactus, modern-day proof that CITROËN continues to innovate and develop uniquely styled, comfortable, user-friendly and functional cars – cars in which people feel confortable and relaxed.[...]
