  • Synonymous with elegance and aerodynamics, the Citroën CX, launched at the end of August 1974, is celebrating its fiftieth anniversary.
  • More than a million of these cars were produced over a 16-year period. Elected Car of the Year in 1975, it was also the car of choice for French presidents and rally drivers.
  • Heir to the DS, its comfort and exemplary roadholding are now found in the Citroën C5 X.

  • Nicknamed the car with 100 patents, it combined the most modern solutions of the time. In addition to front-wheel drive, it notably featured a monocoque structure, hydraulic brakes, and independent suspension on all four wheels.
  • Its distinctive silhouette, recognizable at a glance, has captivated several generations.
  • First presented on April 18, 1934, as the "7" it soon adopted the name "Traction Avant" referring to its mode of transmission.
  • A true benchmark for road holding and comfort, the Traction Avant continued production until 1957.
  • Full of innovations, Traction Avant is still inspiring the brand in both comfort and technical solutions.

  • Citroën celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Jumper, the successor to the iconic TUB and Type H.
  • Since 1994, the various generations of the Jumper have placed innovation at the service of all professionals, from artisans to large fleets, aiming to enhance driver serenity and company performance.
  • The Citroën Jumper has consistently met the expectations of professionals by providing robustness and intelligent design, allowing the optimization of every cubic meter of loading volume, accommodating a benchmark payload, and offering a wide variety of configurations to provide a tailored solution for each user.
  • Today, Citroën is introducing a new generation of the Jumper that is more modern than ever, featuring efficient thermal, electric, and soon-to-come hydrogen powertrains, comprehensive connectivity, and the latest generation of driving aids.

  • Citroën celebrates the 75th birthday of its iconic and long-lasting model: the 2 CV, which was produced in 5,114,969 units between 1949 and 1990.

 

  • The 2 CV has its roots in the “TPV” (“Toute Petite Voiture” or “very small car”) project in 1936 –it aimed at making cars versatile, economical and accessible.

 

  • It has become an icon, built on the brand's mainstays: popular, comfortable, simple, hard-wearing and affordable. Its unique body shape and versatility were the keys to a success which spanned several decades.

 

  • To celebrate this anniversary, eight portraits of noteworthy 2 CVs were produced at the Citroën Conservatoire. On 7 October, a gathering of seventy-five 2 CVs open to the public will take place at the Conservatoire at Aulnay-sous-Bois.

  • Citroën is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the C3 Pluriel, which was unveiled in May 2003 and of which 115,097 units were produced at the Villaverde plant in Spain until 2010.

 

  • Jovial and endearing, the C3 Pluriel is a modular vehicle which came in five different versions: a saloon, a panoramic saloon, a cabriolet, a spider and a spider pick-up. Its unique modular nature catered to a wide range of desires and symbolised a lifestyle all about leisure and joie de vivre.

 

  • The C3 Pluriel was behind a number of initiatives, including the short film festival “Courts Singuliers, Courts Pluriels” on the Parvis de la Défense in June 2003 and “Mariez-vous en C3 pluriel” (Get married in a C3 pluriel) in 2004.

  • Citroën is celebrating the 55th anniversary of the Mehari, revealed on 16 May 1968 at the Deauville golf course. Between 1968 and 1987, 144,953 units were produced, mainly at the Citroën factory in Forest, Belgium.

 

  • This atypical, all-terrain and all-season vehicle seduced a whole generation with its modularity, its practicality and its economic benefits.

 

  • The Mehari became an iconic model of Citroën and more globally of the automotive world, but also in various environments such as the French army and the cinema.

 

  • The Mehari shares this distinctive and leisure-oriented attitude with the Citroën C3 Pluriel, which will soon celebrate its 20th anniversary, and more recently with My Ami Buggy, which will be soon marketed in its latest edition.
