TATIANA CALDERÓN TO DRIVE FOR CITROËN RACING FORMULA E TEAM AT FIA ALL-WOMEN’S TEST IN VALENCIA

Just days after the unveiling of the Citroën Racing Formula E Team in Paris, the team is proud to announce that Columbian racing driver Tatiana Calderón will fly the flag for Citroën Racing at the FIA Formula E all-women’s test session on 31 October 2025 at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo, Valencia. This landmark occasion marks the first time a woman will drive a single-seater race car bearing the iconic Citroën chevrons.  The Valencia test forms part of the FIA’s initiative to promote female participation and opportunity in top-level motorsport, giving talented female drivers a dedicated global platform to demonstrate their abilities. It also provides teams with a vital opportunity to evaluate emerging talent and gather performance data ahead of Season 12, which begins this December in São Paulo.

1. Commitment for the future

Formula E is much more than a championship: it is a model of social responsibility. It embodies a sustainable vision of motor sport, in line with Citroën's commitments.

Like Formula E, Citroën is committed to social responsibility. Its participation in this all-female test underscores its commitment to nurturing emerging talent, driving inclusivity, and advancing electric racing innovation — a philosophy at the heart of the team’s vision for Formula E and beyond.

“Having a woman behind the wheel of a Citroën single-seater for the first time is an important and inspiring milestone,” said Cyril Blais, Citroën Racing Formula E Team Principal. “Tatiana’s experience, technical understanding and determination make her the perfect representative for this occasion where we need to combine talent and courage with a very safe pair of hands behind the wheel. We have no doubt that she will rise to the occasion.”

2. Tatiana Calderón: Extensive motorsport experience

A highly respected figure in international motorsport, Tatiana Calderón brings extensive experience from Formula 1, Formula 2, IndyCar and endurance racing. She also has experience in Formula E, where she has been involved in Formula E at various official test sessions. She is one of the most experienced drivers and therefore a very wise choice for these tests with Citroën Racing’s Formula E team.

Tatiana Calderón said: “I’m incredibly proud to be representing Citroën Racing at the all-women’s Formula E test in Valencia. As a racing driver for me to be the first woman to drive a Citroën single-seater is a real honour, and it’s made even more special as I’m back with some familiar faces from my time previously in this championship. Formula E is at the cutting edge of technology and innovation, and this test is a fantastic platform to showcase what I can personally bring to the championship.”

3. Looking Ahead to Season 12

Beyond its symbolic significance, the Valencia test will serve a crucial technical role for all participating teams. Rookie sessions enable engineers and drivers to collaborate on data collection, energy management, and race simulation, strengthening team readiness for the forthcoming Season 12.

4. Building on Progress – About FIA Formula E’s All-Women’s Test

Last season’s inaugural all-women’s test created tangible pathways for women in Formula E, with five drivers subsequently securing rookie or official development roles, and three moving into permanent ongoing positions within championship teams. This year’s test aims to continue that momentum, strengthening representation and opening doors for the next generation of female talent in motorsport.

In parallel, the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship will host a special edition of the FIA Girls on Track programme on the same day as the test. Up to 100 local young women will take part in hands-on educational workshops, experience life behind the scenes in the Formula E paddock and meet the drivers and teams involved. The initiative builds visibility, engagement, and pathways for women aspiring to enter the motorsport ecosystem. Interested applicants can sign up for the experience here.
