Citroën Racing Formula E Team will make its highly anticipated competitive debut in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship in next Saturday, December 6, marking a landmark moment as the brand enters the all-electric single-seater series for the first time. The season opener on the streets of São Paulo will also unveil the team’s new driver pairing former champion and Frenchman, Jean-Éric Vergne, double champion, alongside New Zealand race-winner Nick Cassidy, a duo poised to begin Citroën’s next era on the global motorsport stage.

Citroën Racing Formula E Team has successfully completed its first official FIA Formula E pre-season testing at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia this week, marking a significant milestone as the French marque embarks on its debut campaign in the all-electric single-seater world championship.

Across an intensive and productive week of running, the team’s drivers completed a total of 621 laps, over 2 096 kms, gathering crucial performance data and continuing the development of Citroën’s Formula E challenger. The testing programme focused on energy management, race simulations, and systems validation, laying a strong foundation ahead of the season opener in São Paulo on December 6th.

Just days after the unveiling of the Citroën Racing Formula E Team in Paris, the team is proud to announce that Columbian racing driver Tatiana Calderón will fly the flag for Citroën Racing at the FIA Formula E all-women’s test session on 31 October 2025 at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo, Valencia.

This landmark occasion marks the first time a woman will drive a single-seater race car bearing the iconic Citroën chevrons. 

The Valencia test forms part of the FIA’s initiative to promote female participation and opportunity in top-level motorsport, giving talented female drivers a dedicated global platform to demonstrate their abilities. It also provides teams with a vital opportunity to evaluate emerging talent and gather performance data ahead of Season 12, which begins this December in São Paulo.

As part of the Stellantis Motorsport Young Driver Program (YDP), 20-year-old Chilean driver Nico Pino enjoyed his first experience behind the wheel of a Citroën C3 Rally2 in a test session organised by Citroën Racing

 

A track and endurance racing driver, Nico Pino had already tested the DS E-TENSE FE25 all-electric single-seater at the end of 2024

 

The Stellantis Motorsport Young Driver Program was set up to identify, train and develop talented, up-and-coming drivers in various branches of motorsport

  • Having impressed this season on both tarmac and gravel at events in the WRC2 with Nikolay Gryazin and Yohan Rossel behind the wheel, the official C3 Rally2 aims to pursue its fine form in the world championship in 2025, this time driven by brothers Yohan and Léo Rossel.
  • The #C3Rally2Family enjoyed a successful 2024, amassing no less than 135 wins worldwide, reflecting the competitiveness and versatility of the C3 Rally2, as well as the quality of service provided by Citroën Racing.

  • Having been improved yet again this year with the addition of some substantial new technical upgrades, the C3 Rally2 has confirmed its status as category leader. The car has impressed in the WRC2, the ERC and various national championships where it has been used by more than 150 members of #C3Rally2Family.

 

  • These results would not have been possible without the Customer Excellence Programme set up by Citroën Racing which aims to provide advanced sporting and technical support to #C3Rally2Family crews.

  • From the Citroën Racing design office, to the development team, right up to the race teams, Citroën Racing's entire technical division is working hard to extract further potential from the C3 Rally2.

 

  • The three major upgrades (roof-mounted air-intake, air box and engine environment) introduced recently, have already proven to be effective, as witnessed by the one-two WRC2 class finish scored in Croatia last month and the RC2 category win secured by Gryazin-Aleksandrov on gravel at Rally de Portugal.

 

  • Initially approved on the official cars, these improvements will be available in the coming weeks to the 150-plus C3 Rally2s competing around the world.

Yohan Rossel has established himself as a frontrunner in perhaps the most competitive class in rallying, WRC2. Driving the Citroën C3 Rally2, he just won the 2024 Rallye Monte-Carlo, he finished third in the 2023 championship with two victories. That, after he already became a world champion with the C3 Rally2 in the WRC3 category in 2021.

 

Just like many of the special stages he now drives around the world, it has been a long and winding road for Yohan to reach this point. The same is true for his younger brother Léo, who won the Stellantis Motorsport Cup in 2022 and is now making his mark in the C3 Rally2, following in Yohan’s footsteps.

Citroën Racing, associated with Team DG Sport Compétition, launched its official 2024 programme with the first round of the World Rally Championship (WRC) at Rallye Monte-Carlo, making its return to Gap this year. Official Citroën Racing crews Yohan Rossel - Arnaud Dunand and Nikolay Gryazin - Konstantin Aleksandrov, at the wheel of the number 20 and 21 C3 Rally2s, took the start of the 92nd Rallye Monte-Carlo in Monaco on January 24 and battled it out for victory from stage to stage until the very last, PowerStage at Col de Turini.

  • Having secured a one-two finish in the WRC2 at the 2023 Rallye Monte-Carlo, Citroën Racing’s WRC2 works crews, Yohan Rossel – Arnaud Dunand and Nikolay Gryazin – Konstantin Aleksandrov, will be determined to repeat the exploit this year in the C3 Rally2 and make the perfect start to their WRC2 campaign.
  • The C3 Rally2s entered by the DG Sport team will be sporting a new livery for the 2024 season, showing off the brand’s new visual identity and its racing heritage.
  • There will be a new addition to the #C3Rally2Family later in the season with Marco Bulacia and Diego Vallejo joining the WRC2 as a third works crew, whilst Mads Østberg and Yoann Bonato will be showcasing the qualities of the C3 Rally2 in the ERC.
  • The #C3Rally2Family will equally have significant representatives in the FIA NACAM (North And Central AMerica) championship, as well in national championships in France, Italy, Spain and Ireland.

Citroën Racing unveils an exciting new livery for the C3 Rally2 as it prepares to target more success around the world in 2024.

 

The design highlights the new Citroën brand identity that was first revealed in 2022. The C3 Rally2 now proudly displays the oval logo on its sides and roof, and the designers have also played on the clean lines of the famous two chevrons to make them stand out from their frame; giving the car a dynamic look whichever angle it is viewed from. The red colour scheme meanwhile confirms the sporting DNA of Citroën Racings and its illustrious history in rallying.
