The Targa d’Oro for Communications to www.fiatautopress.com
The Targa d’Oro for Communications in Italy 2005/2006, now in its twenty-first edition, has been awarded to the website of the Fiat Auto Press Office, www.fiatautopress.com.
The Targa d’Oro for Communications in Italy 2005/2006, now in its twenty-first edition, has been awarded to the website of the Fiat Auto Press Office, http://www.fiatautopress.com/. The portal was created by Time & Mind, and took first prize in Class 1 Web: “Business to business sites and portals” (silver plate).
The site has been on the web since 1998, and it currently welcomes more than 6000 accredited journalists from over 100 countries. It allows subscribers access in real time to all the available information, complete with photographs, regarding the activities and products of the various Fiat Auto brands. The portal is translated into five languages, and is structured by brand and by language, with an archive of press releases, press folders, news about racing activities, photographic archives, film clips and price lists.
On January 1, 2006, the site appeared with a completely revamped management logic, back office and user interface, because the prime objective of http://www.fiatautopress.com/ is to provide the trade media with an information service that is comprehensive, clear, up-to-the-minute and easy to use. The Ulisse Content Management System was developed by Time & Mind and adapted specifically for the Fiat Auto Press Office, with an intuitive, efficient back-office structure that it is extremely easy to update. The user interface is minimalist and designed to highlight the contents. We must underline the huge effort that went into the re-organisation of the photographic database covering the entire history of the Fiat Group, with pictures in low, medium and high definition, which can be freely downloaded and used.
And finally, the password is only necessary in an area which is dedicated specifically to the media; there journalists can register their email address with a mailing list, so that every time a new press release is issued, they will receive an email notification at that address.
