European Touring Car Championship in Brno: a fifth and sixth place for Giovanardi
Scene of the two races for the fifth race in the European Touring Car Championship was the Brno circuit in the Czech Republic. Autodelta Racing Team driver Fabrizio Giovanardi managed to take a fifth and sixth place on a circuit that has never favoured Alfa Romeo 156 contenders.
The other Autodelta drivers, Gabriele Tarquini and Augusto Farfus - the latter's first race at Brno - ended up respectively in 9th and 12th place in Race 1, while in the second race they both went off the road. Tarquini was hit by Rydell (Seat) in the second lap and Farfus was touched by Garcia (Bmw) in the seventh. Priaulx and D. Muller (both Bmw) were the winners in the two races.
In the qualifying sessions Giovanardi had the fifth fastest time, Tarquini eighth and Farfus twelfth.
Tarquini and Giovanardi are still well in the running for the title as they are fourth and fifth in the Championship standings.
The next race in the European Touring Car Championship is scheduled for June 27th at Britain's Donnington circuit.
