Alfa Romeo 4C: new accolades from Spain and Poland for the Italian supercar

• The Alfa Romeo 4C wins the fifth edition of the MQC Motor Awards, in the "Best Sport Cars" category, by "MQC", the Mediaset Spain group motor programme
• Another prestigious prize from Poland: the journalists of the Polish edition of Top Gear have named the Alfa Romeo 4C "Best Car of the Year" in the "Coupé of the Year" category

The Alfa Romeo 4C has won the title of "Best Sport Car" in the fifth edition of the competition by "MQC", the Mediaset Spain group motor programme with the biggest audience in its timeslot.

The prizegiving ceremony took place yesterday evening at the Westin Palace Hotel, Madrid, in the presence of many personalities from the world of sport, the media and the automotive sector. These included Luca Napolitano, CEO of Fiat Group Automobiles Spain, who received the award won by the Alfa Romeo supercar, from Gonzalo Serrano, Director of "MQC".

According to Gonzalo Serrano: "A sports car has to make us fall in love from the first moment. It has to seduce us by its design and make us feel the magic of its equipment and engine performance. Alfa Romeo 4C does all this and more: it is a true coupe, has rear-wheel drive and uses carbon fibre and aluminium. And, if all this were not enough, the engine offers 240 HP. This is a car with character."

The MCQ prize rewards the best cars in the Sustainable Mobility, Technological Concept, Compact Car, Business Development, Best TV Ad, Urban Vehicle, Sports Car of the Year, Legendary Engines, Driver of the Year and Motorcycle of the Year categories. The winners are chosen by a panel of professionals with extensive experience in the motor industry and who participate weekly in developing programmes for the Mediaset Group, such as "Más Que Coches", "Más Que Coches GT", "Más Que Motos" and "Si Parpadeas".

The second prize for the captivating Alfa Romeo supercar comes from Poland, where the journalists of Top Gear magazine - the country's best-selling automotive magazine - gave the Alfa Romeo 4C the title of "Coupé of the Year" in the "Coupé of the Year" category.

Szymon Sołtysik, chief editor of "Top Gear Poland" stated: "It's a dream car which fits perfectly into Alfa Romeo tradition, a light, powerful coupé, with a beautiful profile and unique sound that characterises the 240 HP engine. I assure you that after driving it, the 4C will make a lasting impression on you and you won't be able to think of anything but the car."

The awards from Spain and Poland extend the impressive history of awards for the Alfa Romeo 4C, which already includes "Car of the Year 2013" by the British magazine FHM; "Coup de cœur 2013" by Automobile Magazine in France; "Auto Trophy 2013" by the readers of the German magazine Auto Zeitung; "The most beautiful car of the year 2013" in France, in the XXIX International Automobile Festival; "Best Cars 2014" by the German magazine "Auto, Motor und Sport"; 'The cars I like' in the 'Sports' category according to the readers of the monthly 'Quattroruote' (Italy); 'Auto Lider 2013', 'Sports cars and coupés' category, by the Polish readers of the weekly 'Motor' and monthly 'Auto Moto'.
