There is a busy weekend ahead for the Abarth 695 Assetto Corse and the Abarth 500 Assetto Corse cars competing in the Abarth Selenia Trophies. The third stage of the Abarth Selenia Europe Trophy and the second round of the Abarth Selenia Italy Trophy will be staged on the Redbull Ring in Zeltweg, Austria. The second round of the special championship reserved to the competitors of the first edition of Make It Your Race, the TV talent show that introduced six new drivers to the racing world, will be held in Zandvoort, the Netherlands. This year, Abarth is providing them the opportunity to race for the Abarth Selenia Benelux Trophy.

Young Italian Luca Anselmi on Abarth 695 Assetto Corse is leading the standing of the Abarth Selenia Europe Trophy and of the Abarth Selenia Italy Trophy. In Europe, he nabbed three wins (two in Dijon, France, and one on the Nurburgring, in Germany) and is ahead of fellow countryman Alex Campani, defending champion, who won the first race on the Nurburgring. He also came first in the second race held on the Franciacorta racing track, in Italy. The first race was won by Eric Scalvini.

Both Abarth 500 Assetto Corse championships have been dominated by Emanuele Moncini until now.

After the Nurburgring race, with Frenchman Fabien Jenblanc on the podium (third position in race 1), ahead of Belgian Gerome Glesener and Italian Alberto Fontana, the Make It Your Race drivers will be coached in the Netherlands by the very experienced Arturo Merzario, who will be giving them the precious tips they need to be competitive on such a tough track.

Enthusiasm, passion, nerves, energy and regret for a corner that could have been tackled better are the common themes of the tales of the five young drivers on the Abarth racing official blog at http://teamabarth.tumblr.com/, on Twitter and on Instagram (hashtag: #topdrivers #miyr #abarth) after their seasonal debut alongside the pros.

The weekend schedule at Zeltweg will kick off at 6:10 p.m. on Saturday 15 June with the qualifiers followed on Sunday by two 25 minute races plus one lap starting at 12:05 noon and at 5:50 p.m.

The two races will be held in Zandvoort, the Netherlands at 9:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m.

Aspiring drivers who dream about experiencing the thrill of racing have one more month (until 15 July) to sign up for the second edition of ‘Make It Your Race’, get noticed by the show jury panel and picked as one of the 28 finalists.

This is only the start of once-in-a-time opportunity which will take them directly to the finals in Monza on 20 October. Registrations are open on the www.makeityourrace.com website and the complete rules are found at: http://www.mychallenge.abarthworld.com/it/it/rewards-rules/make-it-your-race
