Another story, another trip: the thrilling Jeep Renegade commercial airs

Major television broadcasters and the www.jeep-official.it site will air the commercial dedicated to the launch of the new Jeep Renegade starting from tomorrow. The Renegade is the first Fiat Chrysler Automobiles car marking the brand's entry into the Small SUV segment.

Based on a concept from the agency Frame Communication and developed by the Leo Burnett agency, the film clip is a series of evocative images of landscapes and faces that cross territorial frontiers. The starting point is the lines of a poem, written and performed by Victor, a young up-and-coming singer right for this event.

Through evocative images and symbols, Victor personally relates his world, one in which he is a tree rooted in the water, a bird that lands on the shore of a lake, on a barrier-free and limitless voyage in which the only boundary is the sky and the only horizon is the skyline looming before him. This is how Victor identifies with the Renegade's spirit: "I am the one who turns the ordinary into something extraordinary. My music is the wind, and my light is a fire, I'm the game changer, the one who changes the rules of the game, the hero who turns the world into a true story made up of strength, courage, novelty, a desire to change. I'm a Renegade."

When the Jeep brand contacted the young singer this summer, he accepted the challenge of writing this piece dedicated to the new Renegade, as the two have a free spirit, an ability to change the rules of the game and turn the ordinary into something extraordinary in common. These are the precise concepts that powerfully emerge from Victor's poetry in music, lyrics written during his latest summer trip: ten, twenty words every day, and always in a different place, following that instinct - which is Jeep's as well - of discovery and adventure, wherever they hide.

And thus, in a natural manner, Victor coined the lyrics that express what he experienced on his exciting journey in close contact with nature. He left this place of the soul to return with a boost of energy to the "concrete jungle" that is the kingdom, the place where he loves to live and that he sings of in its swarming lights and sounds.

These extraordinarily powerful words sum up the soul of the new Renegade as well. This younger Jeep is designed for a younger target that lives life "wild and wired" and wants to express itself in a non-conformist manner.

The son of an Italian mother and a Mozambican father, Victor spent his early childhood in Africa to then move to France, and afterwards to Italy: a "citizen of the world", as he loves to define himself, who now lives in Rome, and tomorrow? Who knows?

Freedom, authenticity, passion and a desire to explore new horizons change the rules as they stand: these are the same virtues as the new Jeep Renegade, the little globetrotter that changes the rules and that will certainly contribute to increasing the brand's considerable growth phase in Europe: +48.1 per cent in July and +45.2 per cent in August.Jeep also registered more than 21,700 cars in the first eight months of 2014, 44.7 per cent more than the same period in 2013.

Built at the renovated SATA plant in Melfi (Basilicata), and sold in over 100 countries around the world, including the USA, the new Jeep Renegade has a strong stylistic personality and is the right size for being used both in town and on off-road trails. It boasts class-leading off-road capabilities, excellent driving dynamics on the road, an exclusive nine-speed automatic transmission, two drive systems, engines offering efficient fuel consumption and a wide range of safety devices.

In EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), the new Jeep Renegade will be available with a full-range comprising four different trim levels - Sport, Longitude, Limited and Trailhawk - a total of 12 fuel-efficient powertrain combinations and a choice of turbo diesel and petrol engines that will be available in four-wheel drive or front wheel- drive configurations. Sales of the new model will start on the main European markets in the fourth quarter of 2014.

The engine range offering in the EMEA region comprises two MultiAir2 and one E.torQ petrol engines and two MultiJet II diesel engines. The gearbox offer includes a choice of two manual, one dual-dry clutch transmission (DDCT) and the first in the segment 9-speed automatic gearbox.

Renegade's offering has been created to meet the different needs of customers in all markets in which it will be launched. And the full lineup, including full powertrain options, will be launched in cadence from now through the first quarter of 2015. While, of course, slightly different market by market, Renegade pricing will start from under 20,000 Euro in European markets, and at a similar position throughout the region.

The exclusive "Opening Edition" will join the four trim levels of the Renegade range during the launch phase. This limited-edition model will be made available exclusively to the first customers who will order the car. Based on the top-of-the-range Limited model, the "Opening Edition" will be available as a 4x2 or 4x4 model. It will be offered exclusively in the two-tone combinations: Alpine White with black painted roof or Omaha Orange with black painted roof. Exclusive diamond treated 18" wheels and the dedicated badge will complete the unique look of the 'Opening Edition' model.

The interior features Black leather seats with contrasting orange stitching that will further enhance a cabin already full of comfort and advanced technological contents. In terms of infotainment, comfort and safety, the Opening Edition features standard UConnect navigation system and 6.5" touchscreen, dual-zone automatic climate control, Passive entry with Keyless-Go, rear parking sensors, Cruise control, fog lights and electrically foldable rearview mirrors.

The engine offer available on the Opening Edition includes the 120 horsepower 1.6-liter MultiJet II diesel engine with six-speed manual gearbox combined with the front-wheel drive configuration, the 140 horsepower 2.0-liter MultiJet II with six-speed manual gearbox and four-wheel drive and the 140 horsepower 1.4-liter MultiAir2 petrol engine with six-speed manual gearbox and front-wheel drive.
