Stellantis y Galloo formarán una joint venture para el reciclaje de vehículos al final de su vida útil
La joint venture prestará, a Stellantis y otros fabricantes de automóviles, servicios de reciclaje para gestionar los vehículos al final de su vida útil. Se espera que estos servicios se pongan en marcha a finales de 2023, centrándose inicialmente en Francia, Bélgica y Luxemburgo, para expandirse después por toda Europa. El reciclaje es una actividad clave dentro del modelo empresarial de economía circular esbozado en el plan estratégico Dare Forward 2030 de Stellantis.

5 de junio, 2023, ÁMSTERDAM – Stellantis N.V. y el principal reciclador de metales Galloo han anunciado hoy la firma de un Memorando de Entendimiento para iniciar negociaciones con el objetivo de formar una joint venture centrada en el reciclaje de vehículos al final de su vida útil (FVU), como parte del compromiso continuo del fabricante automotriz para desarrollar sus actividades de economía circular.
La joint venture Stellantis-Galloo trabajará con los centros de tratamiento autorizados seleccionados para recuperar de los últimos propietarios estos vehículos FVU, lo que permitirá recuperar las piezas para su reutilización, refabricación y reciclaje. Se espera que estos servicios se pongan en marcha a fines de 2023, centrándose inicialmente en Francia, Bélgica y Luxemburgo, para expandirse después por toda Europa. La joint venture ofrecerá sus servicios a otros fabricantes de automóviles.
“Facilitar a l@s clientes/as el reciclaje de sus vehículos al final de su vida útil es un elemento crucial para reducir el impacto medioambiental de nuestros vehículos”, declaró Alison Jones, Stellantis Senior Vice President for Global Circular Economy. “La devolución de piezas y materiales a la cadena de valor preserva recursos escasos y contribuye a nuestro empeño por alcanzar las cero emisiones netas de carbono en 2038. Esperamos implantar el programa este año y ampliarlo rápidamente”.

El reciclaje forma parte integral de la estrategia de la Business Unit de Economía Circular de Stellantis basada en las 4R: Reman, Repair, Reuse, Recycle (Refabricar, Reparar, Reutilizar, Reciclar). El programa de reciclaje de vehículos FVU contribuirá a multiplicar por diez los ingresos por este concepto, y por cuatro los ingresos por piezas de aquí a 2030, en comparación con 2021, con el objetivo de generar más de 2.000 millones de euros en 2030, como se señala en el plan estratégico Dare Forward 2030 de Stellantis. El programa de reciclaje también apoya el objetivo de Stellantis de que los vehículos nuevos contengan un 40% de materiales verdes en 2030.
La operación está sujeta al acuerdo sobre la documentación definitiva y a las condiciones habituales de cierre, incluidas las aprobaciones legislativas.
