Jeep® Renegade passes the mark of 75,000 units sold in Brazil

Result coincides with the 75th year anniversary of the Jeep brand, celebrated worldwide this year

Jeep® Renegade passes the mark of 75,000 units sold in Brazil

Production in Pernambuco already passes 85,000 Renegades

Jeep® Renegade yesterday went over the mark of 75,000 units registered in the Brazilian market, in only 1 year and 5 months from its commercial launch. "We were anxious to reach this goal, exactly on the year when we celebrated 75 years of the Jeep brand," Sérgio Ferreira, CEO of Jeep for Latin America celebrates. "The pace of sales continues intense, success is undeniable, and what is most curious of all is the overall impression that these 75,000 Renegades are not occulted on the streets. Quite the opposite actually, they capture everyone's eyes and enchant for the absolutely authentic style," he completes.

The production of Renegade at the Jeep Automotive Center maintains a fast pace (over 85,000 units), since the Goiana plant (Pernambuco) is supplying most South American and Central American countries. In Brazil, Jeep Renegade is one of the most sold automobiles this year, and it is a great responsibility to raise Jeep to the Top 10 of the brands with the largest registration volume.

Aside from the three Jeep Renegade conventional versions (Sport, Longitude and Trailhawk), the compact SUV has been offered since the beginning of August in the special 75 Years edition, in 194 dealers of the brand. The series is limited to 2,000 units.

Jeep Renegade 75 Years

Available with 1.8 Flex (with 6-gear automatic transmission) and 2.0 Diesel (9-gear automatic transmission) engines, the limited 75 Years edition is based on the Sport version, with the addition of pieces of equipment in higher versions, cases of the roof racks and 17 inch wheels, aside from a series of aesthetic differentials. The main change in relation to the Renegade line options is the elegant bronze finish in the classical seven front grill openings, and also in the bumper frames, on the wheels, on the roof racks and in Jeep and Renegade logos (this with orange contour). The same tone is on the emblem allusive to the anniversary of the brand applied on the front doors, which shows the silhouette of the pioneer Jeep, Willys MB, of 1941.

The roof is always painted in black, except when the chassis is Carbon Black. The other options are Ambiente White and the exclusive Recon Green. Inside, the seat cover is also unique, with details in black and double seam, in white and orange. The prices are BRL 88,890 with 1.8 Flex engine and BRL 116,890 with 2.0 Diesel propeller.

The list of items that come as standard in the series includes Hill Start Assist, stability controls (ESC) and Cruise Control, headlights and rear fog lights, electronic parking brake, configurable multi-functional screen  on the dashboard and Uconnect audio system with 6 speakers, Bluetooth and USB.

Renegade Exclusives

As if it was not enough being the only compact SUV in Brazil with turbo diesel engine option, and the first national vehicle with 9-gear automatic transmission, Renegade offers unparalleled levels of finish, equipment and safety in its category. And it continues to be the only one that is not derived from any passenger automobile, which provides elevated position to the steering wheel, robustness in any type of terrain and superior driving capability.

Among the exclusive items that it presents in the segment, it stands out for:

  • anti-overturn control (standard in all versions)
  • independent suspension in all four wheels (standard in all versions)
  • daytime running lamps (DRL), especially important with the new Brazilian law (standard in all versions)
  • fog lights with cornering function; they turn on automatically on the side where the steering wheel is turned, at low speed or during maneuvers (standard in all versions)
  • two zone digital air conditioning (standard in Longitude and Trailhawk)
  • air bag for the driver's knees (optional)
  • blind spot detector (optional)
