New Palio is the Car of the Year 2012

Fiat Automóveis was the top winner at the 45th edition of the Auto Esporte magazine award, the most traditional in the Brazilian automobile industry. The brand received three awards, for “Car of the Year 2012” with the New Palio; “Engine of the Year, category up to 2.0” with the 1.4 MultiAir engine used on the Fiat 500, and “Advertising of the Year 2012” with the ad campaign for the Fiat 500, featuring the actors Dustin Hoffman and Ricardo Macchi.

The new Fiat Palio competed for the title of Car of the Year 2012 with the models Audi A1, Chevrolet Cruze, Renault Fluence and Kia Picanto. With this award, the Fiat Palio confirms its success, with more than 2.5 million units sold in Brazil.

With the new generation recently launched, the Fiat Palio is completely new. It is bigger, more attractive, better equipped, more comfortable and safer. Now, it comes with six versions, three engine types and two transmission types – a complete and competitive range that serves all consumers.

The Fire 1.4 16V MultiAir engine was the top winner in the category “Engine of the Year, up to 2.0”. Power, availability of torque in all speed ranges and fuel saving, with a reduction of up to 10% in the emission of CO2, are some of the highlights in this engine, which arrived to the Brazilian market applied to the New Fiat 500. Since its launch, in 2009, the MultiAir technology has been acknowledged and awarded worldwide.
