Fiat closes the quarter with sales leadership

Fiat has closed the first quarter of 2011 with the total figure of 172,003 cars and light commercial vehicles receiving license plates. The figures, disclosed today by the National Association of Automotive Vehicles’ Manufacturers (Anfavea), confirm Fiat’s leadership in the Brazilian market, with 22% share. With 2.7% growth over the same period from last year, Fiat’s performance is the brand’s new sales record in the three first months of the year. Considering sales exclusively from the month of March, Fiat’s license plating volume has reached 64,539 units, also leading the market, with 22.4% share.


The list of the brand’s best sold cars is headed by the Uno, with total 61,349 units receiving license plates in the period, followed by Siena, with 24,815, and Palio in the sequence, with 23,281 units. Among the light commercial ones, the Strada pickup truck keeps the total sales leadership, with 28,030 plates licensed. Another highlight of the brand, among the commercial vehicles, was the Ducato, closing the quarter leading its segment, with 3,280 units receiving license plates.
