Fiat at the 29th São Paulo International Motor Show 2016

Fiat marks solid presence in the 29th São Paulo International Motor Show 2016 with a stand filled with novelties and attractions. There are over twenty vehicles in exhibition, divided into three areas, the Fiat Territories - SMART Mobility, FUNctional and EVOlution -, which show its pioneering and jovial spirit, with innovative, modern and desired products, whether in the models of the range or in show-cars, such as the Fiat 124 Spider, which arrives direct from the Paris Show to São Paulo.

The SMART Mobility Territory highlights the compact and intelligent models, passing through the recently introduced Fiat Uno 2017 up to Fiat 500 Abarth. The novelty remains for the launch of Fiat Mobi Drive, version equipped with Firefly 1.0 three-cylinder engine.

The space intended for the FUNctional Territory presents the models that ally driving pleasure and functionality with their owners' bold lifestyle, like the Fiat Toro pickup, including its recently launched version 2.4 Freedom Flex and the presentation of the special Black Jack series, aside from the Fiat Strada pickup.

Now the EVOlution Territory holds some of Fiat's best-sellers, renowned for their quality, captivating and sportive design, high level of equipment and comfort items, like Grand Siena and Punto.

 

Fiat 124 Spider, a legitimate Italian roadster

One of major highlights of the latest Paris Show, in September, Fiat 124 Spider will be exhibited for the first time in Brazil at the 29th São Paulo International Motor Show 2016. The model pays tribute to the iconic 1966 Fiat 124 Spider, a true international historical reference in remarkable design and entertainment on the steering wheel, typical characteristics of Italian automobiles.

A legitimate roadster with a sportive behavior, Fiat 124 Spider blends ravishing style with a magisterial on board technological and connectivity assembly. Just like its external design, the interior also looked for inspiration in the original model, with classical and refined style, offering on the dashboard highlight to a central tachometer, flanked by the speedometer to the right and fuel, engine temperature, odometer and others to the left. The startup is by button, with keyless technology.

Under the hood is the consecrated 1.4 liter turbo engine equipped with the MultiAir technology, with power of 160 hp at 5,500 rpm. The transmission is manual, with six gears and power steering. An enviable dynamic behavior is obtained thanks to the combination of rear wheel drive, perfectly balanced weight distribution and a low center of gravity.

Its sophisticated infotainment system carries a touchscreen 7-inch monitor that controls access to multimedia resources, with AM/FM radio and HD, MP3 player, two USB inputs, auxiliary input and Bluetooth connection. Tee monitor can even show the reverse gear camera images and the 3D navigation system. There is also the possibility of using the voice recognition system to operate the multimedia center, incluidng commands for smartphone, selection of musics and navigation, as well as answering messages received by the mobile phone.

Fiat 124 Spider can also be equipped with a premium Bose sound system with nine speakers, including two integrated in each headrest of the seats and a sub-woofer.

It further comes with 17-inch wheels.

 

Mobi gains the new Drive version with Firefly 1.0 three-cylinder engine

The huge highlight of Fiat's stand is the new Mobi version, Drive. It comes to expand from six to seven Mobi's number of versions, summing up to Easy, Easy On, Like, Like On, Way and Way On, equipped with Fire 1.0 engine, which had just gone through a recent update, delivering now a consumption 3% lower than the previous family.

The new Drive version comes to reinforce even more the main attributes of the model. In a survey conducted by Fiat, the first buyers of Mobi point out as main reasons for their choice was the compact size, design and fuel economy.

Fiat Mobi Drive is equipped with the newest FireFly 1.0 three-cylinder engine, result of FCA's global development that has Brazil as its debut market. It comes with the architecture of two valves per cylinder with an optimized assembly geometry, a totally unprecedented situation of FCA that causes the engine to work in reduced revolution, ensuring greater fuel economy, better performance, lower emission levels and greater silence on board. The power reaches 77 hp and the torque, at 10.9 kgf.m, both with 100% ethanol. It is also equipped with the HCSS system, which eliminates the additional tank for cold startups.

With the new FireFly 1.0 three-cylinder engine Mobi Drive begins to establish new paradigms in the national market: it is the most economical vehicle in Brazil among those equipped with aspirated 1.0 engine. And it is not only this - it is as well the one that offers the highest torque in this same comparison. This means that Mobi Drive meets all expectations of the an urban automobile consumer, offering adequate size, differentiated design, lowest fuel consumption, comfort and driving pleasure, with quick and efficient responses, thanks to its elevated torque now at low revolutions, which also collaborates for a reduced noise and emission level.

The comfort on board is complemented by the electrical power steering, a standard item in Mobi Drive. It reduces significantly the effort to rotate the steering wheel, making driving even more pleasurable. The electric power steering of Mobi Drive further comes with the City function, activated through a button on the panel. It reduces even further the need of effort during parking maneuvers and is deactivated automatically at higher speeds, maintaining safety during driving.

The technology on board is another highlight of Mobi Drive, which comes as a standard item, the high resolution LCD screen along with the dashboard, with diverse functions, such as digital speedometer, econometer. trip A and B, burned lamp alert, temperature and number of hours of engine operation and others.

The standard equipment package is extremely generous, making Mobi Drive a complete model. Aside from the already mentioned pieces of equipment, the following stand out as standard items air conditioner, Swiss knife key with remote command, electrical windows on the front doors and electrical lock in the four doors with one touch and anti-crush function, cleaner, washer and rear window anti-tarnishing device, internal opening of the fuel tank cover and the baggage compartment, steering wheel with height regulation, front seat safety belts with height regulation, bipartite rear seat, cargo box, lane change, ESS, emergency break signaling, and "super-green" tires with high durability and greater adherence.

There is further a range of optional items, which permit the proprietor to personalize even further his Mobi Drive. Here we can highlight the Connect radio with Bluetooth and USB and auxiliary inputs, electric rear view mirrors with Tilt Down and integrated turn signal light, rear parking sensor, multi-functional steering wheel, fog lights, alarm with remote command, roof console with auxiliary mirror and 14-inch light alloy wheels.

Mobi Drive can be equipped even further with the offering of other optional items like seats with premium finish, eyeglass/sunglass holder, magazine holder at the backrest of the front seats, foot support and details with brilliant black finish. The original MOPAR accessories complement the list, offering multimedia center with Digital TV and internal rear view mirror with reverse gear camera.

Mobi's Drive version arrives at the dealers until the end of this month.

 

Toro Freedom 2.4 Flex AT9 and special Toro Black Jack series

Fiat's stand at the 29th São Paulo International Motor Show 2016 also highlights the launch of Fiat Toro Freedom 2.4 Flex AT9, which arrives this week at the dealers, expanding the model's range.

This version is equipped with the new and potent last generation 2.4 liter Tigershark MultiAir Flex 16V engine, with excellent 186 hp and elevated torque of 24.9 kgf.m, both with 100% ethanol, aside from 9-gear automatic transmission, unprecedented among the double cabin pickups with flex motorization in the Brazilian market.

The revolutionary Tigershark engine is fruit of FCA's global development and offers the maximum in performance for customers who prefer flex motorization, thanks to the exclusive MultiAir2 technology, which controls the time of opening of the admission valves through an electro-hydraulic system. With this there is an optimization of fuel efficiency, whether ethanol or petrol, contributing further toward reduction of emissions.

But not only the new powertrain is highlighted: Toro Freedom 2.4 Flex further brings diverse new technologies such as Start&Stop, system that turns on and off automatically the engine and can reduce consumption by up to 20% in congested urban traffic situations; Sport Function, which changes the calibration of diverse components to offer more agile and sportive performance, activated by a button on the panel; and HCSS cold startup system, without auxiliary tank.

Aside from the standard items of the Freedom 1.8 model, the new version adds maritime hood, electrical external rear view mirrors, brake light, dumpster light, tire pressure sensor, multi-functional leather steering wheel with butterfly controls for manual change of gears (paddle shift), Super Spoke 16-inch wheels, and also an exclusive color, pearled Polar White.

The Show further marks the debut of the special series Fiat Toro Black Jack, which will be marketed in 2017.

Based on the Freedom 2.4 Flex version, the series brings as main and exclusive features the headlight with LED DRL system, darkened and non-chrome plated external finish, darkened 17-inch wheels and internal finish with details in black, aside from leather seats with the inscription Black Jack and allusive emblems on the front doors.

 

Fiat Live On for Mobi Drive and new Uno 2017

Another novelty presented to the Motor Show visitors by Fiat is the offering of Fiat Live On, now available for Mobi Drive and the new Uno 2017 in all versions. Through a simple application, Fiat Live On transforms a common smartphone into the vehicle's multimedia center, which can be accessed through device's own screen or through the multi-functional steering wheel. It is a new connectivity and integration concept of the vehicle with the mobile phone, through Bluetooth. Live On brings representative differentials, like being simple and at the same time complete, offering intuitive navigation, incorporating the most used applications in the smartphone when the user is driving in a single menu - which minimized distraction of attention, increasing safety - removable support on the vehicle's panel with brilliant black finish and USB input on the panel, which can be used to charge the smartphone battery.

Aside from accessing traffic and music applications such as Spotify, radios, photos, Internet and making and receiving calls and many more, Fiat Live On brings further a series of exclusive applications that help the driver, such as EcoDrive, which guides playfully and entertainingly to drive the vehicle with even more fuel economy and reduction of emissions, and Onde Parei? (Where did I stop?), which informs the last place where the vehicle was parked, making its location easier.

 

Toro Expedition and Mobi Velocity by MOPAR

MOPAR, which develops and markets accessories for the FCA product line, shows two concept vehicles at the 29th São Paulo International Motor Show: Fiat Toro Expedition and Fiat Mobi Velocity.

Fiat Toro Expedition is the personification of a vehicle destined to lovers of direct contact with wild nature, in explorations and adventures in stark places, with right to camp. It brings elevated 2-inch suspensions, 16-inch ring wheels in beadlock style with 265/60 tires, for better performance in off-road terrains, front winch with tubular bull bar, roof bar with additional LED lighting, leather seats with MOPAR personalization and personalized baggage compartment for transport of sand channel and fuel jugs. A camping tent mounted on the dumpster completes the package, with space for a couple and access through a retractable ladder.

Now Fiat Mobi Velocity incorporates the characteristics of the urban public that seeks to stand out entertainingly and jovially, equipped with accessories filled with attitude and sportiness. The paint in two skirt-and-blouse style tones externally calls the attention, with the white chassis in contrast with the graphite tone of the roof, hood and rear view mirrors, brilliant black on the front grill and air inputs and the darkened headlights and lamps, aside from lateral bands. Lowered by five centimenters with use of sport springs, Mobi Velocity is equipped with 17-inch ring wheels, with 215/45 low profile tires, front brakes with discs of greater diameter and tweezers with four pistons.

The interior gained gray leather seats, sportive pedals, personalized carpet rugs, multimedia center and aluminum door sill.
