In Cagliari from May 21 to 24, the spectacular Golfo degli Angeli was the setting for Preliminary Regatta Sardinia, the official starting gun for the Louis Vuitton 38th America's Cup. In Italy for the first time in its history, the oldest sporting event in the world is due to take place in the iconic Bay of Naples in 2027. Alfa Romeo played a leading role in the Sardinia event, made possible by its role as Official Sponsor of Luna Rossa, and gave its guests an unforgettable experience on land and at sea. The Biscione brand was there alongside the Italian team, when they won the event.

The partnership between Alfa Romeo and Luna Rossa is rooted in a shared vision: tireless innovation, excellence in sport and constantly pushing their limits. An alliance that translates into a concrete technical synergy and an authentic exchange of skills between two outstanding Made in Italy organizations. In Cagliari, this synergy took shape as a memorable experience for the brand's guests. To begin with, there was a visit to the Luna Rossa base, providing privileged access to the operational heart of the Italian team. The regatta and the victory were then experienced directly from the water, aboard an Alfa Romeo catamaran, to savor the tension towards the limit that unites the two Italian brands.

Throughout the event, a Giulia Quadrifoglio Luna Rossa was also on show at the Luna Rossa base in Cagliari, as the first product resulting from the partnership between Alfa Romeo and Luna Rossa, two outstanding Made in Italy undertakings due to face the Louis Vuitton 38th America's Cup together. Its presence – conveying the car’s powerful symbolic value – made the Sardinian competition even more evocative: for the Luna Rossa team, it was the first official opportunity to measure up against its opponents ahead of the Naples 2027 challenge.

The Cagliari event was also the first stop on the “Road to Naples 2027,” a journey aboard the Alfa Romeo motorhome across Italy and Europe that will visit the various venues for the preliminary regattas to the Louis Vuitton 38th America's Cup. Its final destination will be the iconic Bay of Naples, for the most famous sailing event in the world. At each stop on the roadshow, the public will have the opportunity to discover the Alfa Romeo line-up at close proximity.
Visitors to Cagliari also had the very same experience: an authentic immersion in the world of Alfa Romeo, straddling sport, design, and Italian identity.
