In support of Malaysia’s green transition and commitment to a low-carbon future, Leapmotor Malaysia today officially handed over two units of its all-electric Leapmotor C10 to the Ministry of Transport (MOT). The symbolic handover, held during the Majlis Penyerahan Kenderaan EV Kepada Kementerian Pengangkutan, underscores the shared vision between Leapmotor’s electrification agenda and the Government’s unwavering commitment to sustainable mobility.
This collaboration represents a significant step in advancing Malaysia’s Low Carbon Mobility Blueprint (LCMB) 2021–2030, which outlines the nation’s strategy to decarbonise the land transport sector. The LCMB emphasises reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving energy efficiency, and promoting the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) as a key enabler of a cleaner and more sustainable transportation ecosystem.
Through the introduction of the Leapmotor C10 under a three-month testing and operational evaluation programme, MOT will be able to assess the performance, practicality, and readiness of EVs and hybrid vehicles within Malaysia’s transportation landscape. The findings will contribute valuable insights to national EV infrastructure planning and play a vital role in encouraging wider EV adoption across both the public and private sectors.
This initiative reflects the Government’s determination to accelerate the nation’s green mobility agenda, foster innovation, and strengthen Malaysia’s position as a forward-looking country in sustainable transportation.
